i have fair skin, and i've been wanting to get a tan. i've tried tanning beds before, but i would always burn. i've laid out in the sun a few times, and the first couple times, i didnt burn. the second couple times, i got an itchy bumpy rash all over my chest. what could this rash be caused from? is there any kind of lotion i could use to help prevent this? i've been using baby oil, its working pretty good, i'm getting a nice even color without burning except for the rash on my chest. any suggestions are appreciated! thanks in advance!

Baby oil has no protection from the burning rays. Please use a tanning lotion. Start with SPF 4 for a few times, then switch to SPF 2. Do not overdo it! This past year, the doctors had to remove a skin cancer from my wife's shoulder. She was a tanning fanatic, and it finally caught up with her. Take it easy, please.

You have a FAIR complexion this means your skin-type just cant have a lot of direct sun....and tyhose tanning beds are even WORSE for your skin, you dont wanna end up with skincancer.....so dont hang on to this habit of sunbathing,ok.I know we all do look nicer with some color......but its not worth the risk, just ask any skindoctor.NO dont use baby-oil or only for after ,you definitely NEED some UV protector like spf/pa and something with coenrich Q10 in it but HEY after I became 25 I gave up sunbathing completely and really now Im almost 40 and I look MUCH younger, dont need botox yet.Stay healthy and find another hobby, sorry. How about having FUN at indoor-pool or beach.

try using herbal product to enhance tanning effect.
u may use turmeric powder paste an hour prior to sun exposure. this will give u the type of tan u want for ur fair skin. turmeric powder paste is very good 4 skin and will not cause any side effects. even good for sensitive skin.
apply the paste on blisters and rash and leave it overnight. u will see the rash as well as the scar disappear

Use a 2-4 spf and only stay out for about 30 minutes (15 on each side). As you grow darker extend the time you stay out up to about an hour. Don't try to burn, you will just blister and peel.

ok. the thing is your NOT SUPPOSED TO USE BABY OIL!!!
lol. of course your gonna get a rash!! ur supposed to use tanning lotion or sunblock. thats y ur getting burnt and rashes. baby oil doesnt protect u from the sun. sun block does. and you still get a tan with block. ur probably getting sun burn. but w/ sun block, ur not. ull get a TAN. so i suggest you get sun block or tanning lotion. make sure u get at least spf 15.

good luck!

Don't, tanning is bad for your skin, can cause sun burn and worst of all can cause long term damage that can become cancerous in later years
