does not this type of flaw in the Learn-ed men of society, prove how corrupt psyhachiatry is when it comes to religious men of honor, faith, and righteousness?

I ask this question because i watched the tv series "the dead-zone" and in it, the main character was automatically presumed to have a mental illness called schyzophrenia.

by such standards, then every prophet in all religious texts and books are ALL Mentally insane. tell such a lie big enough and most people will believe it. and denial is its own symptom. Yet, it is a hundred percent true, that all Innocent people will deny their guilt.

Actually, if you study psychology, visions aren't enough to declare mental illness.

It's a common misconception.

Psychiatry is definitely focused on maintaining the status quo. There's little room in their world view for events or alternate world views that do not fit their model of how the universe operates.

Myself, I'm an atheist and a skeptic. I've never seen any evidence that the supernatural or paranormal exist. But I am willing to test those assumptions if someone has some evidence that I may not have seen. I'm not ready to get out the straight-jackets and thorazine until I've investigated the possibility that I might be wrong.

The Terminator movies actually have an excellent example of a paranormal occurrence that doesn't fit into the psychiatrist's world view, that leads him to conclude that the major protagonists are insane.

I do see this as a major flaw in psychiatry. A model of the universe that cannot be challenged is not science - that's dogma. So much of psychiatric 'medicine' is built on untested beliefs and unverifiable models.

Most people are afraid of things they do not understand. Therefore, they classify and judge based off of fear. Visions are actually common in more advanced Humans. It allows you to visualize an outcome before it happens. There are also some people that can see the spiritual realm with the physical which explains schizophrenia.

Our society is not based on spirituality but on the material world. As long as we humans only think in third dimensions, we will always miss a part of the truth. There is more that one dimension of reality occurring at the same time.

Most people are not insane. It is just that practical people do not want to take the time to understand odd behavior. That is why they created mental institutions. Therefore, enjoy your spiritual development. After 2012, things will open up to new possibilities.

That is because psychiatry is founded in spiritual blinded. Denying the spiritual exists. Everything is just the physical and chemical imbalances. But they don't consider the soul decisions or the spiritual.

I just answered a question about dreams/visions & some of the answeres truly were from the LORD God of the bible. Because, I have experienced similar. And I can discern a message from God or a message from the devil or just a dream, most of the time.

The dream I had last night, I don't have the revelation on it yet, but plan to understand it soon.

Yes, well, the next time you want to question the credibility of psychology you might wish to base it on more than just another TV drama. TV dramas are filmed from scripts, which are entirely made up.

You also have to ask yourself, how does one distinguish between a a 'rightful prophet' and a truly crazy person? If they both see visions, hear voices and act on them? Most crazy people don't think they're speaking to Napoleon. When one hears a voice one feels compelled to obey, many people are inclined to believe they hear God.

Just for the record, I do believe that every prophet in all religious texts have been, indeed, insane.

I worked in Psychiatry for many years. Visions vary in nature and to have one diagnosed as schizophrenia requires other signs and symptoms of mental disturbance to be present. Someone who has visions can conceal the fact of other mental problems and these might only be discoverd by talking to family/friends/employer. Psychiatrists do not automatically condemn visionaries as mentally ill but many other ignorant people do.

The difference between the guy in the "Dead Zone" seeing this politician as an Anti-Christ and trying to kill him and God's Prophets having Godly visions are two entirely different things.

Prophets have visions of God's desires for our life and yes, sometimes spelled doom. But they did not go out and kill people because of them.

Most Schizophrenia patients hear voices telling them to do things, rather than have visions. And the things they are told to do, usually are harmful to someone else or themselves.

Nope it is right on. If you are seeing things or hearing things that is a mental condition and it is very treatable now. And yes that applies to the people in the past, they just didn't know it.

And FYI: The Dead Zone is fiction. I know you religious types get a little confused in that area, but Stephen King wrote it to be entertaining.

The answer to your question is the same answer to why people so readily flock to the latest scientific theory no matter how far fetched it may be, and how easily they shun any sign of religion or religious things. Satan takes advantage of peoples natural tendency to go away from God and uses thing like the worship of ones mind or the results there of (science) as a tool to draw people away from God. Now do not get me wrong Science can be very beneficial, but like all things it can go to an extreme.
Oh the cunning ways of the evil one. How easily he binds up the hearts of men and leads them down paths of self destruction.

Seeing visions does not nevessarily mean you are mentally ill. But it is a possibility that should be looked into.
