every time i am nice to men they think i am an easy target to be nasty to but if i am the same as them i get respect...why not be nice anyway?...to everyone

If everyone was nice, deep down...then everyone could be nice all the time. Truth is most people or mean, evil and selfish. Most guys are nasty, not nice. And they will take advantage of a nice girl. So if your nice that is leaving yourself open to thoes guys.
Of course you could always just pick the nice guy in the first place. However the nice guys are not going to be the ones you normaly pick, as they are not cool....
