In most places it's still legal...as long as you don't see any sign to the contrary I would say go ahead and smoke. My general rule out of politeness is not to smoke within 100 feet of another person (unless they're smoking also) - but I'll usually walk even further away if there are children nearby.

Basically yes. There is a bit of controversy over bus stops, the semi enclosed sort. Also the litter wardens are out in force. If you throw away a match or a dog end you will get an on the spot fine of at least £20. They will be watching at all the most popular smoking places. At workplaces the company can ban smoking on open areas that they own but not outside their premises.Same as a pub can ban smoking on it's outside forecourt but not on the public street.Although not banned on the street smokers might get a hostile reaction from non smokers especially if they have young children with them. You will be branded as being anti social in your behaviour.. You have been warned... Only smoke at home.

To be able to smoke outside a workplace depends where it is e.g.if the workplace has it's own grounds they can and do ban smoking outside the workplace that has happened at my local hospital.I don't know the answer regarding a pub but I would imagine it is at their discretion.A bus stop should be no problem.

in scotland outside some places were banned like you had to be one hundred yards from my kids school but pubs and workplaces put up ash trays on the walls outside some even put up shelters so i suppose it will be the same for you.

I think it depends on the location..some places don' t like people to smoke in front of their business so they ban it. I would think u could smoke at a bus stop..

yes..but you cant smoke within 4feet of a window or door..which leads into an enclosed space..i.e. a pub or club....otherwise there is a chance that smoke might enter the building...i know its stupid - but thats the rules.

I guess it depends on where you live now, they are passing laws that says you can't smoke in public anymore....in my area you are not allowed to smoke so many feet away from any state buildings but in the process of getting rid of smoking in public all together.
