How many years from seeing the first grey hair and becoming 90-100% grey?

It varies greatly from person to person, even in the same family.
My eldest sister was fully grey in her early thirties, and I am in my mid-forties and only have a few grey hairs, and my younger sister is just 40 and 1/2 grey. Don't know if it has to do with the fact they are blonde and I am a brunette. My youngest brother has more grey than I do, in fact all of my family does (5 brothers/2 sisters and I am in the middle). My mother went grey 20 years before my dad. She was in her late 30's and dad was nearly 50 before he went greyish. I do take after dad in coloring.
I saw my first grey hair in my thirties, and still have less than 1% grey now, at 45.
My husband, who is the same age is 50% grey.

Everyone so far is correct.
It varies completely between people.
Generally, grey hairs start to appear at around late 30's
However, if you wnat to delay your greying you can always use a dye. Garnier Nutrisse is very good for covering grey and is better for your hair than most other dyes.
If you do choose this option go fro a shade very close to yuor natural colour. this way when your roots come through it will be less obvious.
Hope this helped.

My maternal grandma was totally grey by the time she was 25, so was is one of her daughters, however my dad who is 63 still only has a few grey hairs here and there.

I'm 37 and I have just started to get a few here and there.

So I think its all down to genetics.

It's all down to genetics. How long before your parents hair turned totally grey. Even down to how much of your genetic material is related to your father or mother.

there is no definite answer on this it depends on the person
and there hair, you could get a few greys and stay like it, or you could go through some real trauma and go white overnight, also depends on how porous the hair is and what type of hair they have, so don't panic
