What can I really control, but my own thoughts?
How do I blend pure thought and action,
not wounded ego and reaction,
How do I accept the roots of fear and greed,
How do I manage to have compassion for the Corporate needs?
By looking at the world as a planet of alcoholic four year olds. Yup. That'll work.
Pretty hard to hate a four year old, or a loved one who suffered from alcoholism.
Best advice;
Forgiveness does not require remorse from the offender,
Forgiveness is the freeing, precious gift you give to yourself...
Peace

Money slips thru the hand, beauty fades, pride and ego destroy relationships. we do not because of the heart, we lust because of the looks, when we get past the lust of the eyes, we see that the (greed),(ego,)(money,)(pride )all the things that we fell in love with was just our own superficial ideas & lust. But true love is not on the outside beauty or things one can see, its the inside of a person that counts, the hings that never change or fade away, not even with death.

I always try to think about how much better off I am than half the people in the world. I don't have a lot of money or anything, but I like to think that if I did, I would at least use some of it to help the less fortunate. I also do my level best to find happiness in the little, yet most important things in life, like friends, family, and hobbies. I take joy in the beauty and wonder of nature. I hope that's not too hokey.

Don't freak out just because I mention that I got clues about this from the teachings of Jesus. I still figured it out myself.
A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.
After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.
Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.
I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.
I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.
If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.
I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.
Love and blessings
Your brother

If everyone did just a little something good everyday we could change the world for the better. However Satan is always watching the good so he can pervert it in some way. If anyone has any doubts about God and Satan, notice all the good in the world. Then notice how really bad stuff wants to creep in to destroy the good.
innocent children - pedophiles
welfare for poor - healthy people that want to live on the government
medicine - drug abuse
miracle of birth - abortion
food - food poisoning
you could probably think of a few more

Jesus cant and wont help you when it comes time to utilize your own personal power. And if you want to sit around crying about it all day go ahead. It will still take you and that great big heart of yours to find within you the strength to carry on and do what you have best in your heart to do. If you want something fixed then fix it because all the strength and love you already have deep inside of you. That is where I go when my current supply of internal energy is used up. I just go back into that mine deep within and dig up some more of that gold from that eternal vein of love we all have within us. Then I bring it back out and use it as the battery that guides my life. So, if you are serious and sincere enough with yourself you can find this is the best way to confront life... with that your song will contain some substance.

All the evils and unpleasantness you mention - and more - are indeed facets of human behaviour.
But we also, as social animals, have an inbuilt instinctive drive to be nice to others. That instinct has to compete with all the other less pleasant drives - greed, envy, anger etc. - but it sometimes wins through.
That's the essential good in humans, and it can be brought out. It just has a hard time being heard.

Sorry, but can't do a "personal action" without Jesus. Otherwise, even the "good" stuff I do is tainted by self-interest. Belief in Jesus is the only way I can transcend (even in a small way) any of the lure of this world: money, ego, greed, lust, etc.
But thanks for the 2!

Helen—“I feel my life fordone, yet I live anew in you inwoven the unknown true.” Faust—“Brood not, the destiny of truth to trace. Being is duty, were it a moments space.” Their love for each other, fueled by the regenerative power of the earth, created duty out of misfortune and affirmation out of privation. Made whole, Faust now followed a path that only he could walk.--Goethe's Faust Part 2
Love itself is the guide!
