I have to laugh at people who say Buddhists are the most peaceful even though they were involved in the second World War, Vietnam and Buddhist monks have been known to throw petrol bombs in protests!
You may not like to hear it but there are many Jehovah's Witnesses in prisons because of their neutral stance and refusal to go through with compulsary military service. If every religion adopted this attitude, the attitude promoted in the Bible, what effect would this have on world peace?

Yes there is.
They have love among themselves and all speak in agreement of teachings and beliefs no matter where in the world they happen to live. (1John 4:11,20,21; 1Cor. 1:10)
They don't participate in the national wars as our brothers are in those countries too. Catholics and Protestants are on both sides of all wars today. That is not brotherly love.
Even though they are persecuted, they do not fight the persecutors. The fight they have is with the wicked spirit forces of the world trying to get them to break their faith.
They are called Jehovah's Witnesses. This summer will be many assemblies in stadiums and coliseums all over the world. Go for a day and check it out. You may see one police car with the cops having a peaceful day. You will see 1,000s of people orderly going about their day learning more about the Bible and not the buget for whatever. You will see smiles on the custodial staff as they will not have much work to do as after some sporting event. No fighting, smoking or cussing, just peace.

History teaches us that all religions were bloody and murderous in the past. For example the great tribulation that Christians like to say is in the future, already took place. It was the time when Christianity was persecuted by the Romans and the pagans killed them because they did not worship their Gods and especially the emperor.
Christianity survived and rose to power and then killed and persecuted the pagans and forcefully converted them.
Today however neo paganism are the peaceful religions. Some pagans hate the term neo pagan because they like to believe their religion is old an predates Christianity, which may be true, but many key elements in their religion is new and not old. Being peaceful and not killing is a new concept.
My answer is in modern times it is Wicca and most pagan religions that promote peace. I am amazed at pagans today that believe we have always been peaceful. All religions have blood in their past.

Peace and harmony, you'll find a denomination of the Christian religion called Quakers (Friends Of The Earth)
They are pacifists, believe if someone hits you on the left cheek to offer them the right and to not retaliate.
Hope this helps

Not Islam:
It can't teach peace--it was conceived in violence.
And the recent car bombings in the British Isles, as well as thwarted plan of young Moslems to use their six-month old baby, to to blow up an airliner shows
You see, unlike Christ's words to turn the other cheek, Muhammed teaches to use the sword. Before he claimed to be a prophet, he robbed and murdered caravans for the booty.
An old Arab statement is: "Religion is a convenient falcon with which to hunt." And that is how Arab nations acquired their wealth, and built the Dome of Ohmar in Jerusalem, with booty robbed from Egyptian subjects.
The ultimate end of Islam is described in the Bible prophecies. Moslems who profess to believe these prophets should read this page: The Rise, Decline, Death of Islam in Bible Prophecy at www.revelado.org/islam.htm Blessings
Thus says my Buritto, my donkey.

No, notwithstanding it does sell lack of understanding, hatred and war. I fail to be certain how those being oppressed with the aid of the non secular followers in what ever part of the international that they happen to stay, experience non violent and happy, greater probably they're scared and concern for his or her lives for arguing with or not following the religion of the land.

Sadly even Buddhism has been distorted on occassion to justify killing. I doubt very much that any religion which has human beings for followers has completely avoided killing innocent people. At least with Buddhism it has never been done in Buddhas name.

--Jehovah's witnesses. Fully functioning as peace keepers to the best of their imperfect abilitity!
--THEY ARE the only religious organization that stood up to Hitler in all of Germany and maintained peace with all of mankind in not going to war!
--THEY ARE the only RELIGIOUS organization that is represented in the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. as a religion to have opposed Hitler fully:
*** w97 4/15 p. 16 par. 9 Seek True Peace and Pursue It! ***
---The integrity and neutrality of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Germany during the Nazi regime continue to be a testimony to their love for God and for peace even now, more than 50 years later. A booklet published by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., states: “Jehovah’s Witnesses endured intense persecution under the Nazi regime. . . . The courage the vast majority displayed in refusing [to renounce their religion], in the face of torture, maltreatment in concentration camps, and sometimes execution, won them the respect of many contemporaries.” Then it adds: “During the liberation of the camps, Jehovah’s Witnesses continued their work, moving among the survivors, making converts.”
--TODAY we are banned in about 30 lands and our young men are put in jail for their neutral stand!

The problem is not religion, it is the people in power of the religion. Or just humans period. All religions talk of peace, but greed surfaces with the leaders wanting more power and wealth, causing war and tyranny.

Most religions promote peace, it's the followers that don't practice peoperly who are the problem.
By the way, I am Muslim, and Islam does in fact encourage peace and tolerance.
