I years ago would have a very fast pounding heart rate.130 to 200 It has been coming on some again years later.Ive ego gram,ekg ,holter montor they see it is very fast but say normal sinus rythm.Also i took beta blockers ect ect and it seemed like about 2 hrs after i took 1 my heart beat raced for awhile.Any one had any of these? and do you feel odd,and shaky .scared or hot flushing when you heart beats that fast?And how long can it beat that fast without killing you? Im 45

a rate over 120 no longer qualifies as normal sinus rythm, it then becomes sinus tachycardia. A very short time after that it become ventricular tachycardia which causes your symptoms, the heart is beating to fast to allow the blood to oxygenate so you become hypoxic. Such a rate cannot usually be sustained for more than an hour without rendering the person unconscious. Beta blockers may not work, you may need a calcium channel blocker, but the physician or cardiologist in your case would have to make that call.
