I have read De Trinitatis ( On the Trinity) by Athanasius, City of God and Confessions by Augustine, Adversus Haeresies (Against Heresies) by Iraneus of Lyons, the Didache, other letters by Ignatius of Antioch, John Chrysostom, and most Christian writers of the first 400 years of Christianity. In addition I have read works by Martin Luther, St Francis de Sales, Karl Rahner, "The Cost of Discipleship" by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, lectures and papers by RC Sproul, and "Theology of the Body " by John Paul 2. Many other books of lesser import over the past 30 years of my serious Christian development.

No Wonder They Call Him The Saviour----Max Lucado. When God Whispers Your Name----Max Lucado. The Pilgrim's Progress----John Bunyan. The Foxes Book of Martyr's. The latter two books every single Christian should have copies of along with their Bibles. Max Lucado is a great author who paints a picture the reader can see as they read. You won't be disappointed.

Anything I read must come in line with the full word of God. I have read so many books, so I will only mention a few, due to space. My latest book is by Larry Huch. It is called the seven places Jesus shed His blood. It details just how the blood of Jesus gave us back the authority we lost in Him in the garden of Eden. Its a powerful book. All must read this. Larry Huch miistries in TExas. You can find him on the internet.
One other book that has absolutely changed my life. It is by MOrris Cerullo, called Seeing thru the eyes of the Holy Spirit.
It shows how we cant just look at a person, a situation, anything at all, and just see the obvious, like whatever the problem is. We must see the big picture the way the Holy Spirit does. Example I see a 16 yr old kid that is full of rage and acting up and being a horrible person. Easy to hate them , if you dont know God and want them locked up because of all they do. But, what the Holy Spirit sees is not just the person that is there then. He sees them as they were an innocent little child, before someone so hurt them in life, He sees their innocence , their purity, and He knows what God can do if someone willl bring the Lord to them, love them, accept them and show them another way. Seeing the big picture, from the beginning to the end. to the completion of what God has always wanted and planned for that person. Thats just a tip of it all, but I tell you what, when you look at ppl and situations that way, it is so easy to see things as God wants us to. Instead of anger at that, you are feeling only bad for that person, determined to love them, pray and ask God to save them. Hurting ppl hurt other ppl. There is no execuse for it and yes there are consequences. But, lets love them, and show them another way. God says we have no past once we are His, so we must show others this same courtesy and not hold pasts against them. But this book is not just about that stuff, its about everything in life and how we have to see the big picture. Maybe you are poor now, but God will bless you soon to abundance. Its waiting for God to do what He must do, and knowing that, believing that, and staiing in Strong faith. Everyone should read that book also.
I hve gone on long enuff, but I would suggest that everyone read those two books. Mr. Cerullo is also on the internet.
I am anxious to hear what others reccoment.

Pilgrim's Progress, I have found to be the most spiritually en-lighting book I have ever read because I realized the Bible is a book to show us all the path or journey, but many people do not realize the Jesus Christ is living inside of us as we fight our battles and win or lose he still walks with us as long as we call our self a Christian. What I realized most is that every person you meet in life has a goal that many times that person does not realize what his purpose even is unless you know his true name. Each person the Christian meets has a name that tells you their purpose and some times we need to realize saying the right words and calling yourself a Christian does not always mean that is what you are. Christian meet many people in his journey to Heaven and what they all have in common is they are trying to distract him from his path.
And his family all think he is crazy and fanatical, and really do not understand him until after he dies, this also reminds me of Jesus Christ because nobody really understood him til many years after his death.
