a couple of days ago i had laparoscopy surgery done and my dr. found out that my right fallopian tube was clogged. since i'm trying to concieve i asked if there was anything that he could do for this problem and he said no. i read up on this and found out that there was a way to unblock my tubes naturally and that there is a surgical procedure that can be done. i'm confused and don't know what to believe. can anyone help?

It absolutely depends on the extent of the blockage whether or not it can be repaired and opened again. If you have had a pelvic inflammatory disease the tube might be way too scared to provide a viable option in surgical repair. You can still become pregnant with just one tube and ovary. There is a procedure where they shoot dye into the tube and sometimes the dye itself will open the tube sufficiently, but in all likelihood, if your doctor said no then you would probably be wasting your money.

It all depends what "clogged" means. If it is a fibrotic tube, meaning scarred over, there is no procedure that can fix that. You can still conceive with one functional fallopian tube. It is best to see somebody else about this problem but like I said, a fibrotic tube is beyond repair. To prevent the other tube from becoming that way, avoid sex with random people and get tested for STDs. Chlamydia and Gonorrhea infections lead to pelvic inflammatory disease which then leads to sterility.

there are things that can be done, it may be that your doctor doesn't know the technique involved and there fore there really isn't anything HE can do. I suggest you see another gyn surgeon that perhaps specializes in fertility.
