Most? Where did you read this? If this is your opinion I'd say just as many meat eaters look as ill as any vegetarian and more likely more so. Most people are overweight in our society and exponentially more are obese then they should be. I'd be willing to bet vegetarians don't fall into this category too much. Being overweight is an illness and is associated with mental and physical ailments as well. It's also one of the larger catalysts to other life threatening problems.

I don't look ill one bit. In fact if it were possible I'd place my health level against yours easily..without evening knowing you, because I am very confident in my own fitness and condition.

I haven't met that many vegetarians, but all the ones I have in life are healthier then most or more then omnivores that I've met.

Should spend some time looking over the above link... how many of these people are ill?

In the future it'd be nice if you'd cite some associations or sources of what your saying..or maybe at least some unbiased personal encounter instead of a 6 line general question =)

I've never seen a vegetarian that looks ill. Have you really noticed a large number of vegetarians looking "ill" or are you just trying to get a rise out of people?

New York - Country singer Carrie Underwood was crowned the world's sexiest vegetarian for the second time after an online poll by an animal rights group.

Over 110 000 votes were cast in a month-long poll by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) which put the Grammy-winning Underwood at the top of the annual list. Underwood also won the contest in 2005.

Underwood, 24, came to fame after winning the hit TV singing contest American Idol two years ago.

Joined by guitarist Kevin Eubanks

Peta said in a statement that she was joined at the top of the list by the lesser known Kevin Eubanks, 49, a guitarist who leads the show band on TV's Tonight Show hosted by Jay Leno.

Other runners-up include actors Joaquin Phoenix, Milo Ventimiglia, Kristen Bell, Bryce Dallas Howard and Jared Leto.

Previous winners of Peta's World's Sexiest Vegetarian contest include singer Prince, actresses Natalie Portman and Alicia Silverstone, country singer Shania Twain, Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin, Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire, actor Josh Hartnett and model Lauren Bush.

I was a vegetarian for 2yrs. The best I ever felt in my life. Great energy. Started back eating meat and my digestive system went wack. When I look at before and now in my pics, I know you've been looking at someone with an eating disorder that YOU thought was a vegetarian.

Do they? You mean like Alec Baldwin, Alyssa Milano, Carrie Underwood, Kristen Bell, Tobey MacGuire, Alicia Silverstone, Kim Bassinger, and Pam Anderson? Hmmm.

Or, like the 80% of non-vegetarians who are overweight or obese?

Double Hmmmmm.

You are making a very uneducated assumption. You haven't met every vegetarian in the world so using the word 'most' is inaccurate. Read up! A lot of vegetarians are in fact very healthy!

Seriously, Where do you people live??

First off, I am not vegetarian.

In my neck of the woods, the vegetarians and even vegans look perfectly healthy to me. I see them running local marathons, loppets, etc.

I am sure someone out there has said the same thing about you from time to time so I would suggest you worry about yourself and not your neighbour.

Hang on a minute..................................
I'm back.I have just been upstairs to look at my son who is a vegetarian. He looks great and is doing press ups at the moment. We can't remember when he last went to the Dr. in fact the surgery rang a few months back to enquire if he still lived with us so that they could update their records. He doesn't even get a cold.

I've always been pale so it's not the vegetarianism, but recently I've gone hardcore on my veggie diet and I feel & look so much better!

& I TOTALLY agree with Hannah S, I once had the same comment!
