I like Nate's Meatless Meatballs, Gardenburger Flamed Grilled Chik'n, Morningstar Meal Starters Chik'n Strips, Boca Chik'n Patties, Boca Burgers, and Tofurkey Deli Slices. Here's a good list of meatless products: http://www.vegcooking.com/guide-favs.asp (starts at "Beef Substitutes"). I like Boca veggie dogs better than the Smart ones.

Sadaff - it is a brand usually found at small Persian and Indian deli/stores. The taste is very vibrant and the instructions are easy. You can get firm tofu and use the curry sauces with rice and veggies or falafel is the perfect option to a "meatless" patty. Boca and Smart Dogs are "Americanized" and tend to the blah side - they are great for kids because they lack a defined taste. I would recommend shopping stores where the community has a very veggie bases diet and it will make life a whole lot simpler. Oh, and silky tofu with Ponsu is a really lovely treat!Good Luck!

Amy's Kitchen has really good vegetarian products. Oh, and for the first response about your son being vegan. I'd be careful about him eating the Boca brand stuff because almost all of it has milk in it. Also, I think Gardenburger brand uses eggs, but I'm not sure on that.

Most brands are pretty good. You can add seasonings to improve the taste. Morning Star Farms also has good products. If you want to follow a vegan diet, read ingredients carefully. Many vegetarian products contain eggs and milk.
Gardenburgers is an excellent brand ; all of their products are vegan. They make several types of burgers as well as delicious barbecue ribs. Check out Peta.org for info on vegetarian and vegan diets, recipes and product info.

Boca was my first "fake" burger brand, and I still enjoy it. I'm a little bit more into Gardenburger now though. I don't like Morningstar because most of their stuff isn't vegan (you have to check all of them, anyway) .... actually, their fake 'riblet' is vegan and tastes great, a little high in calories though. I just discovered "Lightlife" deli slices ... the "bologna" is great! I'm gonna see what happens when I try to fry it with some Earth Balance 'butter'!

My son is a vegan and is also quite picky! He likes smart dogs, Boca breakfast links and garden burgers. A great book is Vegan with a vengeance. Her website is www.ppk.com. She has some great stuff in there. Even I love the pizza dough and the carrot cake is out of this world!

Yves Veggie Dogs are good, (not the tofu dogs), Smart Dogs are ok too.
Boca Burgers - http://www.bocaburger.com/
Yves Burgers - http://www.yvesveggie.com/splash.php
Garden Burgers - http://www.gardenburger.com/home.php
in that order.
Morning Star Farms also makes a good 'fake' sausage (not the breakfast ones though) and a Riblet. The 'fake bacon' is pretty good too.

Yves makes pretty good 'deli slices' for sandwiches too. And I also like Hickory Smoked Tofurky Deli Slices, but not their other products.
Amy's products are good, just check the label if he's not eating cheese.
Check out www.vegsource.com for more ideas.

Quorn is my favorite brand for faux chicken. I use Yves deli slices for sandwiches at work and also use their veggie "ground beef" for tacos and stuff. My favorite meatless burger is the vegan Boca.

It's all good
The Kraut Brothers
are my two favourite they are honestly the yummiest things and if they're cooked well, they can taste almost as good as meat with half the fat

These two companies have good vegan burgers (not all are vegan, check ingredients). I don't like the overly processed soy products. Tofurkey has some good ones as well as far as turkey-style slices and they are organic.
