and who will take care of your kids when you DIE from complications of diabetes? Your thinking is off a bit. If you think you are diabetic, you must see a doctor. You must start treatment and get it under control, if not for your own sake, for the sake of those who rely on you.
There are clinics that provide health care on a sliding scale, find the one nearest you. Or go to a county hospital, they have to see you whether you can pay or not. Just get it done and deal with it.

Quite a few doctors have a revolving pay plan that would enable you to go to a doctor for a lesser charge. Call around to some Endocrinologists and see if you can't line one up. In the meantime, some of the indicating factors for diabetes are:
1. Extreme thirst
2. Frequent Urination
3. Extreme sleepiness after eating a large meal
4. Tired all the time
5. Difficulty focusing on tasks
6. Vision changes
These are just some of the things that you would notice if you are diabetic. A rapid loss of weight sometimes occurs as well. If you have more than a couple of these symptoms, you need to check into an Endocrinologist in your area and see if you can't find someone to help. Most medical people are actually in the field to HELP people and are not there just to make a buck, okay? You have to ask, though, or they won't know that you're financially unable to come up with the money for the visits. They will also help you out by giving you samples of medication if you are having that much trouble making ends meet, because they want for you to be all right.
I hope this helps. God bless.

When I finally went to the doctor, I instinctively knew I had it; I had read about certain signs the body gives off; I was incredibily thirsty; no matter what I did; I couldn't assuage my thirst; I must have drank bottles of water and my favorite, Canada Dry (which ultimately only made it worse); and then my vision was blurry; I had a hard time seeing at night; I went to the doctor and after the blood test, it was confirmed; my blood sugar level was 385! Walking time bomb. That was 2 years ago and now my blood sugar is at 105-120. Find a way, no matter what, to get to a doctor. What about a community type hospital; or call your local health department and find someone; don't wait, this disease will take control of your life, and then who will those babies have to look after them? People do die of the complications associated with this disease; it isn't pretty; don't want to scare you but the numbers are staggering, the amount of people who have diabetes or who will get it; it's in the millions!

You want to test your blood glucose. If you know anyone who is diabetic, he has a meter to measure blood glucose. He (or she) would probably be happy to test you. It's really painless, especially these days when you can do it on your arm, you don't need to prick your fingers.
You want to test either when you first get up in the morning before you've had anything to eat, or one or two hours after eating. Your diabetic friend will know what the numbers should be.
I have a meter, and when I go to test my blood my friends all say "Hey, test me too!"

If you are diabetic you will have to see a doctor to get medicine. If you don't take care of you condition, some one else will be supporting your kids. Diabetes is nothing to play with.

I wouldn't trust the urine test. When I needed to check, I asked someone I knew who had a blood tester and used her machine. She didn't even charge me. :)

You can purchase a blood glucometer and check your sugar levels. But to be certain, I'd go and see a physcian.
