Yup.
I think someday scientists will find a cure for herpes and even HIV/AIDS. It's just a matter of time.
Look how far we have already come with medicine. With all the vaccines (one of the newest ones is for the STD HPV) and all the other medication, we now have a control on illnesses that we didn't have control on 100 years ago.
I think there will definitely be a cure someday (maybe not in my lifetime), but hopefully someday!

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes (type 2) about three years ago, whilst I was still attending college and had a silly one-night stand. I know loads of girls say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I don't think there will ever be a cure for having HSV, because the manner in which it lays dormant inside the cells between outbreaks.
I do think that someday a vaccine would be the best shot at it. But who knows if it would work considering the nature of the virus.

Maybe sometimes in the very far future, but I do believe that vaccines will be what makes the numbers on it go down to almost none.
