Assuming you are not Vegan there are many vegetarian options:

Dining Out:

1. Any Italian place will have plenty of meat free pasta dishes.
2. Mexican - plenty of bean based meals
3. Chinese - Usually a whole vegetarian section on the menu.
4. Indian Food - Many Veg options
5. Pizza

Fast food
1. Fast food for any of the above
2. Burger King has a veggie burger
3. Taco Bell
4. Wendy's has potatoes
5. Sandwich shops have options

Biggest places to avoid as they have little to no options:

Seafood Restaurants and Steak Houses

I've only been vegetarian for a year, but I've yet to find a restaurant (in this country) that doesn't have at least one veggie option. The choice is often limited, but that's a sacrifice we make! I don't go in fast food places because health is one of my reasons for being a veggie, but I've heard that MacDonald's salad dressings contain gelatin and their fries are cooked in oil that contains essence of beef.

Start eating at different restaurants. For example, most Indian and Asian restaurants have extensive vegetarian sections on the menu with lots of interesting and yummy dishes. Also, your non-veggie friends won't mind eating there because most also serve meat too.

I strictly avoid fast food restaurants, based on principal. If you support them, you are continuing to support the meat industry. Pack a picnic lunch and find a nice park-better entertainment, and not contributing to the cruelty of animals.

Well if you can't eat a salad your only option is ketchup packets and water. Even then.....Fast food is bad for you. Instead of fast food they should call it:

Not Good For You Food

I would avoid fast food at all costs. Or just go with the barbecue sauce packets.
