This is very rare blood type. So it is a very good thing that you donated this blood. There are people everyday that need blood and it is only through the goodness of the hearts of the donators that these people get the blood that they so desperately need. God bless you for donating your rare blood type. Only AB- is more rare.

Obvious the first choice for a type AB recipient is AB type blood. The second choice is type A and the third choice is type B. Type O is the last choice; but type O Rh+ packed RBcells is what is given to someone in an emergency situation when the blood type is unknown. Patients with type O blood can only receive type O.

I hope it is good ,that is what I have. It means an AB type is a universal reciever or recipient, O type is a universal donor and in demand for blood donations,. Of course, they want it all. I don't think it is that rare, there is a lot on my mother's side of the family that has AB+.

All blood types are good.. the main difference of each blood type is who you can donate blood to or receive from
* AB+ can donate blood only to people with AB- or AB+
* but AB+ can receive blood from everyone!!
so ur lucky to have such a rare blood type which receives from everyone
and i think it's rare because it's least common in many countries

I am AB+ and i donate whole blood and plasma. But AB+ is universal and rare. When you donate and they see that you are AB+ they will probably ask and see if you would like to donate plasma instead of whole blood.

AB- is the rarest, but AB+ is quite rare. You are lucky in that you are the "universal recipient", any blood type can donate to you! So that is good if you're in an accident, God forbid!

you can only give blood to other AB+ people, so it's not as useful as, say, type O blood for donating, but you are a universal recipient so if you ever need to recieve blood it's helpful for you...
