Sounds great!!! Ya gotta have a lot of fun food and cool appetizers, so here ya go!

PARTY CREAM CHEESE PINWHEELS

10 large flour tortillas
2 boxes of cream cheese
1 cup pitted black olives, finely chopped
2 tablespoons pimentos, finely chopped
1 pkg ranch dressing
2 tablespoons green jalapenos, finely chopped

Soften cream cheese Mix in the powdered Ranch dressing Add the pimentos, black olives and the jalapenos.
Spread evenly over the flour tortillas using a rubber spatula. Roll tightly. Cover and chill for about one hour. Slice into pinwheels.

PIZZA SNACKS

Favorite pizza flavors top crackers for a crunchy appetizer.

1 c. finely chopped turkey ham
1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 stalk celery, diced fine
1/4 c. sliced pimento-stuffed olives
2 tbsp. mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
About 60 unsalted wheat crackers

Combine all ingredients except crackers in 1-quart microwave-safe bowl; mix well. Arrange crackers on 3 microwave-safe serving plates. Spoon a teaspoonful of mixture onto each cracker.
Microwave (high) one plate at a time, uncovered, 45 to 60 minutes or until cheese starts to melt, rotating plate once. Serve warm.

To finely chop ham, remove outer layer and process in food processor.

Pizza Snacks can be assembled several hours ahead and heated just before servings.

What my family did for my 21st was hire a hall and have a themed party.
My party was "Pink", obviously your fella isn't going to want that, but you can have any theme you like.
You have all the decorations a ceratin colour or theme, the cake, everyone's outfits, everything has to go with the theme/colour.

Below are some website addresses that can help you and give you ideas, if your really stuck.

I have been to birthday parties where the theme was the year the person was born. Music played was from top 100, games that were popular then, even dress in clothing from that year. As far as food , make it a pot luck. have the guests each bring something; everything from food to paper plates, cup, napkins, etc. It will make things much easier on your pocket book. And do the famous BYOB.

Hold it at a venue like a bar or club, they often have free hire for stuff. That way you don't have any cleaning up to do, the music is there, and it won't cost you a fortune as everyone buys drinks from the bar.
