Should government officials be required to fly commercial?

Celebrities and elected officials should lead by example, dont you think? Private jets and limos are hardly "green".

Not only is it a matter of being 'green' and setting an example of preserving our environment - it's also a matter of saving taxpayers' money. I think government officials, when they absolutely have to travel on taxpayers' business, should be legally required to take the very least expensive form of transportation: bus, train, commercial coach airline, taxicab, subway, bicycle or walking.
Forget spending taxpayer dollars in private jets and limousines. They're supposed to be public servants, not privileged royalty. -RKO- 06/26/07

Yes I believe our government officials should be required to fly in the cheapest seat possible if they want an upgrade they should pay for it. And by the way why should a government official fly. Are they not on the clock I don't know any body that gets to fly while they are at work. Just hear about our president and some movie stars, and we know Bush is not at work so he don't count.

Are you an anarchist? Do you not know that there are terrorists out there and they are trying to keep you "safe". Surrender your personal freedoms. Don't you know that the government only passes laws and regulations for the public, not government paid thugs, I mean officials. I mean, they are not on social security, they have their own retirement plan that takes care of them.
Never question the government, they are always right. They need to "protect" you from yourself and everyone else.

I definitely agree. It's ridiculous for one single person to have their own jet for flying here and there...and it really sets a bad example for the world.
