What theme is better, A formal theme or a summer party with water and fun stuff?

I think the summer theme would be best....The graduate deserves a break! Grill out or barbeque, cut up a pineapple, make some fruity mixed drinks and celebrate! :)

It's summer have some fun. If you want to go formal theme make the theme something that will be fun and not too clothing restricted, like say Beach Blanket Bingo- 60's style beach party where you have a Gidget or Annette Funnicello & Moon Doggy style pool party. It's all about the bikini and hairdo's.
70's would do a Love Boat Lido deck kinda event- again summer wear they're just dressing for a cruise tour (hawaiian shirt, black socks and sandals :) Don't forget your cruise staff... The Captain, Doc, Julie ,Gopher & Ted the bartender!
Jamaica or Bermuda with Raggae, steel drum music, limbo etc
This way you can have a formal Summer theme!! Best of both

Personally I'd say go with the summer theme. There's already been so many formal events for seniors in the past few weeks, with prom, graduation, etc. Nows the time to kick back and celebrate!

go with the summer party, i was invited to one and they had a pool and ice cream and soccer, the kids injoyed themselves as did the alduts. hoped i helped
