When I was married I too snored. She gently told me to roll over on my side, and I guess it worked. Also, when the is too much noise in the neighborhood to sleep, I use rubber ear plugs. Works great, I hope it helps you, too.

Sleep deprivation is not good. It can lead to other health problems. However, the cause is very probably directly related to your spouse snoring. I am assuming that you are losing sleep due to the volume and worry. I have other questions? Does he breath shallowly or does he stop breathing all together? If he does stop breathing, do you know for how long? Does his skin change color? When he gets home from work does he fall asleep sitting in his chair? Has he reported to you feeling tired during the day or feeling like he might be falling asleep at the wheel of the car? If you are answering yes to any of these questions, he may have OSA or obstructive sleep apnea. This is a condition whereby the tongue falls into the back of the throat and blocks it. It is very treatable with a machine that he can wear at night via a mask that applies positive pressure to his airways to keep them open and help them stay open. It is best to see a doctor that specializes in sleep medicine and schedule an over night sleep test if he has any of these symptoms. My husband used to stop breathing for up to 60 seconds at a time and his oxygen levels drop ed from the normal 98% to the 60's at night until he was tested and now that he uses his machine he actually has energy to participate in family activities. I hope this helps you. Best of luck.

He needs to see a doctor. He may have sleep apnea, which is a dangerous condition. That's what I had. Now that I sleep with my CPAP machine I no longer snore.

The doctor will give him a simple pulse oximeter test, a thing on his finger overnight. This will tell the doctor your husband's oxygen level. It is that simple. If it is low, he will go for an overnight sleep test.

Do it. Sleep apnea is dangerous, and the biggest symptom is snoring.

Is he overweight? Tired a lot? If you said yes to both of these he may have sleep apnea . My sister and one of my friends have it. Many people don't realize it is a health condition. He may need a machine to sleep with or surgery.
