If you are talking heart or brain or any other organ of the body , there are multiple tests.Even for entire circulatory there tests, and the bad circulation can be easily found e.g. in cardiac you can do an angiography or Doppler test, or nuclear test to sort out the problem, OK. It depends which part of the body you want the test run including upper and lower limb.

If the Dr. suspects poor circulation he may order an ultrasound of the veins in the legs, or neck. It may get more extensive with having a heart catheterization. This is here they insert a long tubing thru a needle in your groin and fed it up to your heart and inject dye for determining blood flow, this can also be done on the kidneys and the legs at the same time. Treatment such a stents to hold the vessle open can be inserted at this time. They can also do MRI's to check your brain and also MRA's which are similar but use dye to show blood circulation.

It is best to try to prevent these circulatory problems by exersizing and eating healthy. Don't smoke and loose weight if needed.

Yes, several tests. Most people with bad circulation have symptoms and other changes. Poor peripheral blood circulation usually causes hair loss on lower legs, cramping, and other similar problems. Simple testing in the Doctors office can include palpating, and ausculatating all peripheal pulses, and performing an ankle-brachial index.

More invasive tests would include angiograms.

There are tests to detect bad circulation. Physical evidence would be cold extremities, swollen ankles and or wrists. No or weak pulse in extremities. Blood tests look for enzyme abnormalities. Depending on what they find they may do Doppler etc...

Sometimes you have symptoms - numbness or feeling of cold in your extremities (fingers, toes, lower legs). The doctor can use a stethoscope to listen to the pulses in your lower legs to determine if there is a circulation problem.
