Just curious. Sometimes I get the feeling that I have them

I always cross my legs really tightly. Really tightly. I don't know why it sort of feels good. I don't know why, but it just makes me comfortable. Then afterwards it's hard to walk because my legs feel all weird. My veins have become bluer than normal and my track coach says I walk with a limp. Help, please? And also can you develop clots and heart disease at any age?

When you sit and cross legs so tightly, you get some pleasure out of it, probably you get excited and hence you sit like that.

When you hold your legs so tight the blood flow stops and the legs do not get blood and you feel numb, you cannot move and your vein become blue etc. So avoid sitting in that posture. It really affects you. Sit comfortably and relax. no tight positions. you will become OK. No blood clot. If any blood clot is present there, then you will not be able to move.

Track coach?!! Listen if you are active enough to be running competitive track, you almost certainly do not have to worry about blood clots. Nonetheless you should get up and move around every so often. If you use oral birth control and/or smoke then your risk for clotting is increased...but still very rare for people under 30 and very rare for people who are physically active regardless of age.

Typical symptoms include redness, swelling, and pain.

Your noted "limp" might have to do with one leg being slightly longer than the other. Measure from the top of you hip bone (anterior superior illiac spine) which is up almost as high as your belly button down the the bottom the ankle bone (lateral mallleous) on the outside of your foot. Compare the left side length with the right side length.

Good luck.

As far as a clot as in DVT, it can sometimes be detected, as "Clotter" mentioned I have also clotted, but there was no visible sign. My mother has one clotting disease and I have a different one. Blood tests can determine if you are prone to clots. Ultra sound can show some clots but not all, depending where the clot is. Here is a link to clotting disorders. Best wishes to you.

being someone who's had 4 of them, yes you can know if the leg or arm is swollen, sore to the touch, and a purplish in color. in which case, you need to see your MD STAT to have a sonogram done/doppler to check the bloodflow.

ya, but if you had one you would be in intense pain, swelling and or shortness of breath. The tests such as cat scans and vq scan can determine them along with a d-dimer.
