You need to see a specialist in respiratory problems. My husband use to snore and he saw a doctor who prescribed him a machine that he uses at night and is wonderful. Now both of us sleep like babies. Good Luck!

I suffered from the same condition but not only was it work related but also weight related. When I started working I was 250 on a 6' frame - five years later I was at 400 - then I was 500 by the time I was 30 and am at 550 now in my mid 30s. I took a sleep test as I was getting to 350 and determined I had sleep apnea - likely to due to the weight. So I use a CPAP machine and have been fine since. Of course as I have gained more weight the settings have been adjusted by my oxygen saturation is fine and I remain healthy.

I am guessing that you might be a little overweight. Just losing 10 or 15 lbs will eliminate this problem

My Mother in law had sleep apnea and snored for probably her entire life (I only knew her for 32 years.) But thyroid medication helped her lose 17 lbs and her snoring stopped completely. And it was truly unbelievable, even when she closed her lips while chewing.

It might pay off to have your thyroid checked out, it is just a simple blood test. This might be a contributing factor.

For years I snored and was so tired all the time then my doctor suggested a sleep study and found out I have sleep apnea. Now I have to wear a CPAP mask to bed but I don't snore and am not as tired. So ask your doctor about having a sleep study done.

There are Breatheright strips that can help a lot. You put them on your nose before you go to sleep, and they help open up your airways.
You may want to have your wife try to check if you are grinding your teeth at night as well. Snoring and teeth grinding go hand in hand, but teeth grinding can really wear down your teeth and cause future problems.

nyal make nasal strips that go onto the outside of your nose, put them on at bedtime you will have a better night's sleep and definitely will not wake up tired in the morning, it may keep you out of divorce court and my husband says it is less expensive good luck married to a snorer
