I've actually tested both in the palm and the forearm and found that either one is a good alternative to the finger and painless but, I found it easier to get a drop out of the palm. Remember that alternate site testing is only accurate for fasting glucose not post-meal. FYI, I use the Aviva monitor.

Try the super fine lancets. That is what I use. Make sure your instrument is not set on the deepest setting. I do use my fingers a lot but as suggested by others, use the sides of your fingers. I use my forearms too, the super fine lancets don't hurt. I have tried the palms yet, not that desperate for blood. LOL Give them a try. WalMart has a brand that is great and not too expensive.

Do not test on finger tips, test to the side of your finger. The fleshy parts hurt too much. You can also have an adapter with your blood glucose tester for your arm. Good luck. ]Don't mash your finger either to get the blood run out, just milk your finger or hang it down first.

You can also get blood from the side of your fingers. Anyplace that you can get blood is ok. The most used spot are the fingertips. Toes would work too but that sounds more painful.
