I know that everybody else before me said "No" but believe me - yes, it is. I just learned that in health class!
Yeast infections don't neccessarily have to be sexually transmitted but, as weird as it sounds, they are counted as STDs!

The correct answer is "no" a yeast infection is not an STD. A yeast infection is a fungal infection. It happens in women when there is an overgrowth of our "normal flora" - something that lives inside us all the time to keep our vagina clean. There are plenty of reasons why a woman can get a yeast infection - if she's taking antibiotics for something, if she's taking prednisone (a steroid commonly given when someone has an allergic reaction to something or when they have an asthma attack), birth control pills, pregnancy, your period and from having sex with someone that has a yeast infection.

I know, I said it's not an STD. It's not. But if you are a girl that has sex with a guy that has a yeast infection, you are going to get it. It's the same principle as babies sharing pacifiers. Thrush is simply a yeast infection in a baby's mouth. It's very common, and very easy to get rid of. But, if a baby has thrush and has a pacifier, and another baby gets ahold of that pacifier and puts it in his/her mouth, he/she is going to get thrush as well.

I have included a link below for you.

Although yeast infections are not considered sexually transmitted diseases, they can occasionally be spread from one sexual partner to the other. This is quite rare, however, and the partner of someone who has a yeast infection does not automatically have to be treated.

Obviously, guys don't get vaginal yeast infections. But balanitis, an infection in the head of the penis, can be caused by the same Candida that causes infections in women.

The short answer is NO. Yeast infections (candida) is an imbalance of bacteria in your body. Whether it's vaginal, oral (sometimes referred to as 'thrush') it develops sometimes from taking oral antibiotics as it creates an imbalance in the 'flaura' bacteria in your stomach (the good bacteria). Yogurt can help get the balance back.
NOW THE BAD NEWS. If you have a yeast infection, you can pass it to your partner. If he or she gets it (yeast infections are very contagious) you will continue to pass it back and forth via sexual contact. Both people need to be treated and cured and sexual contact should be avoided until you are both 'clear.' Otherwise, you can pass it back and forth for a long, long time as yeast infections can be tough to clear for men.
Get tested, get treatment and make sure your partner is also tested. You may clear yours up and he will pass the bacteria back to you on first contact quite possibly.

depends. a yeast infection is intended to let you know that there is a problem with your vagina. when feces gets in your vagina you get a yeast infection, when you have sex and dont douche after or when you have sex and the man has a problem with his genital area you can get a yeast infection. or overall you probably just have a STD. i had a std once and didnt know it until i had a discharge from a yeast infection. i was lucky taking pills for a week fixed the problem, that might not be the case for you. get a pap smear and urine test.
