I could never do it. There is just something so satisyfing to me about eating meat. As a matter of fact, there is nothing else I would rather sink my teeth into than a perfectly cooked/seasoned piece of medium rare rib eye steak. I'm very thin and it would be more difficult for me to get my daily dose of protein in a single serving if I didn't eat meat. Also, I just have a hard time attaining that "full" filling dining on vegetarian meals alone. I know that vegetarians tend to live a healthier lifestyle, but I do believe that meat is healthy in moderation. To each their own. Cheers.

I have been a "temporary vegetarian" twice, now. Once when I got a bad case of dysentery from bad water overseas - my system was so fragile that being a vegetarian helped me recover. And I did it again for a year just to sort of "detox". Both times my body felt the difference. I guess anyone could be vegetarian or vegan - if they have a motivation. If it's love of animals, health reasons, necessity... as long as they have the right reason for them, they could do it.

Human were born as omnivore and not herbivore. if you're a vegetarian, there's some protein you may miss that can only found in the meat. I know that eating a lot of meat will harm our health, but adding a little meat into the menu will help you even healthier sometimes.
I guess everyone will get a healthy body as they obey the guide of the food pyramid.

I honestly don't think I could ever be a vegetarian. I just love meat. I have been raised polish, and we eat a lot of meat. Not a ridiculous amount, but a fair amount of meat. Anyway, I just can't live w/o being able to eat a ham and cheese sandwich, or bacon w/ eggs. or *gasp* salami! i <3 salami. plus, as im still growing, (im 13) there are many important things that you can only get out of meat. maybe when im older i could try it, but for right now im going to stay omnivorous.

Contrary to what a lot of peole in here seem to think about some of the answers I have given.... I came in here because I had been considering it. Apparently I'm a veggie basher. shame on me.
Anyway, answer your question.... I have been considering it but I also seem to have a mentality different from a lot of the people in here. I would love try it to feel healthier, mainly because I used to be a long distance runner and now I have too much titanium in my lower leg, due to a work accident, to run anymore... but I really could care less about how others get their food. I have the opinion that if you like veal.... eat veal. people here thumbs down you for things like that but I just don't really care.
I think I am still going to try it..... purely for health reasons now that I have become more lax in my lifestyle, but I am still trying to figure out the best way to approach it.
How much healthier does it really make you feel.... lots?

I started out vegetarian in the end I turned out to be a vegan . Don't think I could strictly go back to it. I love the plant base diet.

I lived vegan for 8 years while I was married to my tree hugging idiot ex wife....the VERY day I left her I ate cow.....and yeah while one can argue that the vegetarian lifestyle is healthy it is no more or less healthy than an alternative diet lifestyle that is healthy and still includes meat.

No...i feel perfectly fine and lively being a non-veggie...plus i love meat...

people that turn veggie are usually healthier because they make a greater effort to eat the right things because they are concious of not eating meat and so usually check labels on food and this also helps them avoid fatty foods...

by the way...congratulations on becoming a veggie...i could imagine it would be very hard to change...peace out

No I am not. I don't think I can, honestly. I don't eat much meat, but I like chicken. I don't really care for steak. I like fish too. I have to have some in my life. I admire the mental attitudes of vegetarians. They are healthy. I would probably eat more carbs if I became one, and my good cholesterol is too low and my triglycerides are too high. That would not help me. I do not like a lot of fruits as they tend to make sores in my mouth. I am allergic to pears, soy, wheat, flax seed, etc. They did a test and found all of it. I would like to try to eat better and have a cook to cook for me.

I am glad you are healthy and are able to be that way. God Bless you.
