It's hard to define a typical dish in Malaysia because it's a diverse multi-racial country, with its main races being Malay, Chinese and Indian, each with its own ethnic cuisine. Popular dishes include roti canai and tosai (Indian-style breads, served with lentil curry), nasi lemak (Malay-style rice cooked in coconut milk, served with a variety of spicy dishes), char kuay teow (Chinese-style rice noodles stirfried with lots of garlic, cockles and prawns). We are very lucky here coz we get to enjoy so much different kinds of food and they are easily available and reasonably priced, too.

It relies upon what you mean via universal, by way of fact there is dishes that english people think of of as classic (or consume multiple) yet they won't actually come from england initially. i could say for england it may be fish and chips (glaring) shepards pie, cottage pie, toad interior the hollow and a sunday roast dinner. i like pasta and pizza yet i additionally love lasagna for italian.
