I just had my daughter's 1st b-day party a week ago and damn am I glad I went with pizza. Almost everybody likes pizza and you have a lot of choices. We had about 25-30 people over and ordered about 10 or so pizzas and it was way more than enough. The bonus is that there's leftovers. I fed my daughter her regular food before people came over and let her have just some of the softer veggies off the pizza and let her gnaw on the crust. She loved it, it also left room for her cake. Try to go with something that's easy to clean up. Get some festive paper plates and napkins and when all is said and done all you have to do is take out the trash. No dishes to clean, or containers to stow away in the fridge (unless there's pizza left over and that's easy to stack up). It also didn't involve dirtying up utensils. For the parent, 1st b-days are tiring, so make it easy on yourself. But if you are having other toddlers there, then you may want to try another route that involves softer foods, maybe cater BBQ and sides (but that can get expensive and messy). As long as it's something they can eat independently with their hands then you should be cool.

We served fajitas at my daughter's first year. Most people like them. I'm not sure everyone would enjoy wings, and they can get pretty messy. Or maybe just hot dogs and hamburgers. Something easy, so it's not a big mess, and you stress out to clean it up after the party ends.

At my son's first birthday, I had finger sandwiches, gold fish crackers and small cut's of cheese, veggie's and dip cut small, and fruit. If you are having lunch hot dog's and pizza are a good choice, but I would recomend not putting much on the pizza, just cheese or pepperoni, since a lot of kids are picky eaters.
Good luck with your answers.. also for drink's I had juice, you can get disposable sippy cup's but most parents generally bring along something for their kids to drink out of.

at my boys 1st birthday, we had hot wings, veggie trays, and cracker dips. We bbqed up some hamburgers and hot dogs. This was all for the older kids and grown ups. The boys stuck with their normal snacks like plain crackers and vienna weiners until cake time.
