I eat a high raw vegan diet - raw fruits, raw veggies, raw & unsalted nuts & seeds - and for my protein, I eat the vegan, gluten-free Gardenburgers (I am grain intolerant) and some nut butters. I have felt the best I ever have. People guess me to be 15 years younger than I am. I've got a ton of energy. I sleep no more than 6 hours a night now. And on top of all that, even though I was at an okay weight (not the best for me, though) for my height, the month I switched to this is the same month I lost 17 lbs. (I'm 5'2 and weigh 105 lbs now) What's so unhealthy about that? Oh yeah. I haven't been sick in over a year now, either.

Fruits and vegetables alone would not work in any way, shape or form. You must eat grains (rice, bread, etc) because eating the mentioned would reduce the count of proteins and vitamin B12 , thus making them deficient. Also not eating any kind of meat and/or consuming dairy would even worsen the situation. My advice, do NOT eat fruits and vegetables alone unless this is a macrobiotic diet you are undertaking and talked to your doctor or equivalent if this is right for you.

It's ok to do that, just make sure you take a calcium supplement that gives 100% Daily Value of calcium. Viactiv is nice because its eating a chocolate a day. But if it has dairy in it, they make plenty of other calcium supplements. Do you like any source of protein or grains? Peanut butter is a great source of protein, and maybe some vegan bread would give you a bit of grain. But yes, you could survive on just fruits and vegetables, after all, a lot of people who live in other countries can only afford those things, since they grow them themselves! Do try to take calcium, though, ok? It'll keep you from getting osteoporosis young.

You will go through detox. The more toxic you are, the worse detox is. Make a slow transition between any 2 diets. It will ease the detox and be healthier.
Do some research on it. Here’s one site: http://www.veganbodybuilding.com/phpBB2/ with a bunch of enthusiastic and inspiring athletic people that are DOIN’ IT!!!!!

To clear up myths here:
Everything has protein. Just get enough calories: That’s a lot of food…fun lifestyle.
Very little time on the toilet.

You MAY lose “friends” – DO NOT tell anyone…….not a joke.

I have done that a little bit, and ended up sicker than I'd ever been. I did not see the results right away, but ended up with low iron. Which made me very tired and weak, and sickly. You need some fat to hang onto the nutrition; otherwise, it will go through you, and you won't retain the nourishment. Beans are great, but you still need a better diet than that. You may survive, but not feel well for long.

Only fruit and vegetables will not suffice. You need Protean also to continue on this mother earth and if you add pulses with fruits and vegetables you will win the race.
Meat or dairy are not at all compulsory to live happily.

You will be sitting on the toilet quite a bit.

On a more serious note - supplement your diet with some kind of protein - your body needs it to build and repair tissue. It is also needed for healthy hair and nails. B-12, amino acid, and calcium supplements should also be taken. In order to keep your iron levels at a healthy level, make sure to eat plenty of dark green leafy vegetables.

"The real benefit from vegan diets is the low-calorie foods. Whole grains, fruits and vegetables tend to "fill you up before
they fill you out." In other words, their fibre, high water (for fruits and vegetables), and low calorie content enables one to
feel satiated long before over consumption of excessive calories.
You could suffer from B12 and iron deficiencies. It would probably be best to take vitamin supplements."
