Are you afraid of peace? No? Then why all of the fighting on all sides about religion? No, everyone doesn't believe the same. We know that. Is that a good reason on ANYONE'S part to ridicule, mock, or anything similar? I don't, and I don't do it to others. Ask those who know me. Everyone here knows my friend Lokasenna. She's not muslim, and I certainly don't want to do anything to her. She's one of few people I trust on here, and religion doesn't affect that. I have other friends, too, and about half of them are not muslim. We are all people. Don't you think that after how many thousands of years of fighting, we could have figured this out by now?

I have to laugh out loud at first answer, that is pretty good. I like the nice trolls.

Fourth answerer, of course. He is not muslim. I couldn't care less what he does with his life. I believe that everything that happens is the will of Allah. And the Quran speaks of muslims enduring such tests. As a muslim, I forgive him and any like him. Not to would be bad for my own health, as hatred and grudges only eat you alive.

I try to get along with all people, whatever their faith. I have to admit, though, that there have been times that I have baited Christians to provoke a response---I was raised a Christian, and I suppose I have a lot of resentment that has to have an outlet somewhere. You know, I've seen a few of your questions and you have always phrased your postings with exquisite grace and sensitivity. You're an example for us all.

People take their beliefs personally, and if you disagree with the beliefs, the believer takes that as a direct insult. This is why very often a comment that begins with "If you look at the historical context of the given scriptural passage..." is responded to with "You're deluded by Satan." Actual theological argument gets you nothing more than personal insult. Until that changes and people can simply debate ideas on their merit, this sort of childish mudslinging is going to continue.

It does get sickening, doesn't it? The worst part is that even when we try not to do it, all of us get caught up in it from time to time.

All the best,

Lazarus

Lokasenna is a sweet heart. I agree with you. I have friends all across the board. I think if people would try to see other people's points of view the world would be a vastly different place.

For some people dear friend, war brings them money and they will be reluctant to stop it.

Just think for urself. There is fighting going on in Afghanistan. So if someone conquers Afghanistan, they get a route to a lot of other countries you know. N now what do we have in Iraq.... ??

It all results to the same thing. No, U and I are not afraid of peace. But there are some people, who will have to keep fighting and fighting......... just to keep their pockets warm.

I try to respect the religions as best I can. I may not believe in any gods, but I will not say that none exist. I try not to insult people's religions, though it is not always easy with how insulting they can be.

I am at peace with myself, and I am working on peace with the world. I taking it one step at a time.

Well, if people on any side would give up the power grab then perhaps we would have peace. Greed and powermongering (control, needing to be right, etc.) is what fuels wars these days. Some hide behind religion to conduct their 'war' but it is all the same.

I'm with you, I want peace. I want to love my neighbor no matter their deal is. You can be Muslim, pagan, wiccan, etc. it don't matter. If they want to be my friend then I will be their friend.

The only person I trust on here is Barbara.

I don't fear peace but I know that unfortunately, it will never happen. Some people are so stubborn in their own beliefs that they cannot fathom any other ideas.

The facts is not everyone can fit in the rich side... no body, no gals or guys ever want to be poor it stucks.... so the poor will always fight for power while the rich fight for protections. It will always be this way because the rich needs the poor the poor needs the rich. Fighting for sides is always going to be issues.

No, I think peace is a very good thing indeed. We have too much violence and hatred in this world. (The only situation I consider violence of any kind justifiable is in self-defense.) It would be a much better world if everyone judged people by their character and not their labels.

You are one of my very best friends on here, so much so I think of you like a sister. :)
