Well in the grand sceme of things that isnt alot of money to share with a bunch of people..I would tell my parents and my wife's parents..maybe give them a weekend away..and I would take the rest and pay bills and invest the rest. Problem is if you tell bunches of people everyone will want something, and won't understand why you can't give them 5,000 dollars. It's funny really you read about how most people that hit the lotto either end up broke and how their life has been ruined..I think I remember hearing that a guy in WV had his granddaughter kidnapped, his brother try to kill him and his wife left him...All related to him winning the lotto

If your smart you'll keep it to yourself. You are risking your family and friends safety by telling anyone.
Read the story of the guy from Washington state that won a large amount of money. His car was broken into several times. Then is was stolen a couple of times. His home was robbed a couple of times. He had several law suits brought against him for stupid reasons (people trying to get some money). And the worst was his granddaughter was kidnapped and killed.
Still want to tell people that you won a lot of money?

spouse: yes.
All the rest just depends on how much you trust them. They are obviously gonig to tell others. I mean, how often do you hear about someone you know winning the lottery????

I'd probably tell everyone, but most importantly I'd want any any prospective future girlfriends to know.

After taxes you would get about $68,000.00
I would tell the IRS about it. Unless I am legally bound, I wouldn't tell anyone else.

I would tell my parents and my boyfriend, but nobody else. I don't need people asking for money.
