Twenty-five percent of Americans believe it is at least somewhat likely that Jesus Christ will return to Earth in 2007, a new poll from the Associated Press and AOL News shows.
The poll, conducted by the international polling firm Ipsos, looked at the public's predictions about what will occur in 2007.
Pollsters found that 11 percent of those surveyed said it is "very likely" that Jesus will return to Earth this year. An additional 14 percent said it was "somewhat likely."
Twenty-five percent of those polled said it was "not too likely,"
compared to 42 percent who said it was "not at all likely." Eight percent said they did not know or were not sure.
While a quarter of Americans polled said that it is at least somewhat likely that Jesus will return to Earth this year, views about the topic varied depending on religious persuasion, the AP reported.
For example, 46 percent of white evangelical Christians believe it's at least somewhat likely that Jesus will return this year, while 17 percent of Catholics and 10 percent of those with no religion feel the same way.
The poll, conducted Dec. 12-14, was based on telephone interviews with 1,000 adults from all states except Hawaii and Alaska.

Well that is because when he sent Jesus and Jesus did miracles for everyone to see and spoke truths people scoffed at him and did not believe.
In modern technological age if someone comes over and starts doing miracles people will believe even less.
So, I think the next coming of Jesus, the final coming will be so incredibly crazy and astonishing that there will be no doubt that this is it, this is the end of the world and there is no where to run, no where to hide.
I think it will be something on a scale of him literally taking our planet and folding and bending it with us on it

As someone previously said, he already sent his son, Jesus, and many people mocked him and hurt him. When the Jews asked for a Messiah, God sent Jesus. No one believe Jesus was the messiah, and the jews are still waiting this very day for the messiah to come. I think their a little late, dont you?

Im not a christian but i think god does send messengers. i think we all are. the problem is people are so caught up in their beliefs and defending there religion they refuse to listen to any message thats may call their beliefs into question. he sent moses and he was banished by people who didnt want to hear his message. he sent jesus and religious people nailed him to a freakin cross. he sent mohammed and to this day he is riddiculed by people of other faiths his people dismissed as uncivilized most of the time. He sent joan of arc what did religious people do to her? Galleleio, martin luther.martin luther king jr, nelson mandella, bob marley, john lennon, etc etc etc.... We see hear messages from god all the time and ignore them. dismiss new ideas as hearacy just like the romans did jesus. If I had a message from god id keep it to myself because religious people seem to like to kill his messangers
**ps: i know my spelling etc.. is awful im in a rush and sure you guys get the message.

Every time someone accepts the lord into his heart, he is commanded to go and spread the word. So he has been sending someone. People just find many excuses not to listen.
That's why we call it FAITH. Knowing he is there without actually seeing him.

With everything Jesus did, why do you need another messanger. Pick up a Bible and read it, and learn what Jesus did for you.
