I know several men that are "nice guys" and all of them are single and are making their way into their thirties. I hope to god I'm in a serious, committed relationship by that point in my life. I worry though, because I can be quite nice myself sometimes.
Why are most women not turned on by nice guys? Do women subconsciously see these men as... I dont know... socially inept?

There's nothing wrong with being "nice", just don't be overly "nice". Make sure you tease them every now and then, but be a gentleman. Girls are attracted to CONFIDENCE, not "bad boys" or whatever you hear about. It's all in the confidence and sense of humor...

There are women who are attracted to nice guys. Usually the women who are attracted to the "bad boys" are either immature themselves or they see nice guys as someone less of a man for being nice to women.
In 20+ years of dating, I have learned that women who like the bad boys are attracted to them because of the boldness and the thrill of danger that these type of men possess. It could also stem from their personal upbringing where the first man in their lives, their fathers were cold towards them or abusing in some way to their mothers. They grow up thinking this is how men are supposed to treat women.
In time most of them grow out if it and figure out that the bad boys do not make very good life partners and will seek Mr. Nice Guy out. Being a nice guy isn't enough to attract women. You have to learn how to be romantic and charming where she sees you as a potential lover and not just another friend.
Take heart. If you find yourself continuously being rejected by women for being too nice, then she is the bigger loser for doing so. She more than likely doesn't know what she should be looking for in a man.

Define nice. A truly nice guy will have no problem having a committed relationship. Socially inept is a different issue.

It's the danger aspect of our psyches. Women just naturally want to take a chance. Go for it.

Girls like the adventurous side of a**holes and the gentleman side of nice guys.....
So be a gentleman who is assertive and confident....
