If god is omnipotent and omniscient then everything in the world must necessarily be exactly as he wants it to be, because he knowingly chose to create it that way. How, then, can anyone say that something in the world displeases god, or is not as he wants it to be?

kc_6201 - No, it doesn't. If god is omniscient then he knows what we will do and if he is omnipotent then he can do, or allow, anything he chooses. Therefore anything that happens must be his choice.

John F: fine, but then you've taken away god's omniscience.

Well if you believe in God, He gave humans what he calls "free will." This means they can do whatever they choose to do, including sin. Make sense?

properly i'm gonna play "devils" recommend here and help out the theists. Omniscient potential all-understanding so I see your element. inspite of the undeniable fact that, what if the destiny is un-knowable? this potential that a being, no rely how sensible, no rely how powerful can on no account see into the destiny, because of the fact the destiny hasn't surpassed off. i be attentive to it is not what Christians say, yet an all powerful, all understanding being might have created each thing merely approximately like a seed and then sat returned and watched it strengthen. ....Nope, now that i are growing to be this far I are conscious of it is not a valid argument because of the fact of God is familiar with each thing than he knew precisely what could ensue to the "seed" he planted. fairly Christians, in case you pick your tale to be extra possible, drop the all-understanding, all powerful stuff. It will advance too many paradoxes and actually, makes the mythology fairly boring. An all powerful hero isn't very heroic. merely seem at Superman, he get's criticized for being too powerful and he isn't even on the brink of all-powerful.

Try to pretend for the moment that the bible does not exist and you need to start from scratch to understand the truth from an unbiased fresh perspective. Can you do this? God only created two persons, Jesus and The Holy Spirit. Everything else that was created proceeded in waves or sections if you will. Each wave or section is further away from the original source. Each entity that is created has free will and can create other beings that are not equal to or greater than themself. All entities that were created, including our spirits, were products of collaboration as opposed to being the decision of a single entity. Until we get to satan and the chain of cooperation was broken. Our spirits existed in heaven where we did not know evil and we chose to come here and be exposed to evil. We are given 2 gifts by God to lead us to the truth that will not only take us back to heaven, but to a position in heaven much closer to God than when we left. Those two gifts are Jesus and The Holy Spirit, NOT the bible. The bible has a mixture of truth and untruth which leads to confusion. The Light within you is the way out of the confusion. Be born again of The Spirit, that is to say, become aware of Her presence.

You have forgotten that god is all-knowing, in the biggest sense of the phrase.
Therefore he/she already knows what the random-number generator is going to produce before it runs, even before that line of code is written..therefore it is not random.
Thus, this is not a way for an all-knowing, all powerful being to produce freewill.
If god is all-knowing, then he is ALL-KNOWING, both future and past.
He already knows what 'freewill' decisions will be made and has chosen the universe to function in this exact fashion. Thus, freewill is not freewill, all actions are already predetermined, because god already knew what the result would be before he/she created it.
ALL-KNOWING, not almost all-knowing....but absolutely all-knowing.
Take care.

Sovereignty is God's absolute and exclusive right to exercise authority in the universe (I Chron 29:11-12; I Sam 2:6-8; Psa 50:10-11). He holds this prerogative because of the perfections of His character and because of His position as creator and governor of the universe. As creator, His dominion is perfect and His decrees are final. Because of his authority as governor, He is to be obeyed.

We have no choice. He do as he pleases. This I know in a very hard way. I rebel against Him. I fight with His words.I curse Him. I thought all this I did it on my own. I thought I was cursed and whether I am Satan Child. We are his perfect plan. Whether we are of God or not, it is His choice. We are nothing even though we are save. He calls who he wants. I am the least deserving to be call His child through Christ. Who is? There is one more thing I know, that whatever He does it is Good. So assuring. We cannot comprehend His thoughts, not by our own, not through the eyes of the world.

Good question.
I am of the opinion that Whatever it is He's doing, -it is completely OK. The nature of Things as I observe them is in an uncompleted stage of development, and will be for some time yet.
The metamorphosis of certain insects is a clue.

I do see your point and as a "NO" I do almost agree with you 100%.
I do have a reservation though because of the one item of that one choice in a decision mankind must make. That is to decide whether to accept God as God or to reject Him.
If your statement is limited to the World system then of course I agree 100%. But if your thought does include those of mankind who reject God as being God and choose to be a part of the world eternally, then from God's view I wonder a little. because of a declared statement in Genesis chapter 6.
I do of course accept that foreknowledge did allow God to know all before the beginning, thus he knew who would accept the world. I see this in your comments of :
"How, then, can anyone say that something in the world displeases god"
My friend, with my limited ability to understand the deep love of God, I can not comprehend how He can truly set aside those whom He does love to their desires knowing they are only hurting themselves. I do accept He by his nature is bound to both sides of love in hang on to and never let go of those who do return His love as well as let go of those who desire not to return His love and be let go of. However in Genesis chapter 2 is is written that "It is not good for man to be alone" I take this to include without God.
Thus my reservation is in the fact I can not comprehend the concept that those who do desire not to return the love to God are seen as pleasing to God in the world.
I do hope this better explains my answer to you about the thought I have in my mind my friend.

The logical conclusion to this line of thinking is; God is powerless to change anything, whithout your decision to change something. Your free-will, is his tool for change. That implies that the fate of the entire cosmos, and it's future depends on my/your decisions. Awesome...or very egocentic, take your pick.
