I've been sick now for two months, off and on. I've had sore throats, ear infections (both ears), low grade fever, small headaches, and burning eyes (to the point they will water non stop). My nose gets so stuffy to the point i feel like i can't breathe. I've also been having anxious and irritable feelings, but i'm happy all the time still. I only get sad every once in awhile for no reason, but it only lasts for about 5 minutes and then i'm happy ol' me again. I know i don't have depression becacause i can't stand to iscolate myself, and i love being around my family/boyfriend as much as possible. The anxious/irritable feeling all started at the same time i started feeling sick. We have mold growing in our house on the ceilings and walls in some rooms, could this be causing my sickness? I've heard of toxic mold syndrome. I got checked for a bad thyroid, and no problems there, so that's out of the question.. and i don't have allergies.

bleach may kill it on the surface, but most mold in a home that you see is a small portion of what is there.

Most molds grow in the cavaties of walls, basements and attics.

there are may sicknesses that mold can cause.

Most are unaware of the trouble that molds can cause concerning health, It is this attitude that allows people to fall into the dangerous den of toxic mold. Some of the symptoms and problems directly related to mold are serious symptoms and illnesses such as chronic bronchitis, learning disabilities, mental deficiencies, heart problems, cancer, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue, lupus, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple chemical sensitivity, bleeding lungs and much more.

As you can see, Mold has more damaging effects than the average person even starts to conceive.

You need a mold inspection by a certified MOLD inspector, not a regular home inspector.

I have a friend in this business. The local inspector for real estate pre sell has no clue how to do the inspection.

Mold can cause different problems with people, so you should see your doctor and inform him/her of that issue. Also, allergies can develop later in life--just because you didn't have any before doesn't mean you don't now. My guess would be that the irritable feelings are associated with the sickness because being sick tends to make people anxious and cranky.

Just talk to your doctor, letting him/her know all of your symptoms and things that you are exposed to (such as the mold..). Good luck and feel better!

You bet, it may be exactly what is causing your illness. Black mold also known as toxic mold has a variety of health problems associated with it, including the symptoms you are experiencing. You need to find where the mold is coming from in your house and you need to scrub the areas with bleach water to kill it, and find the source of moisture that is feeding the mold, and kill that too. If you dont nip the mold problem in the bud right away, you may be putting you and others that live with you in danger. Consult your doctor about your illness, he may be able to give you something to help with all of your symptoms until the mold is controlled.
