You might want to take into consideration that you guys might fall out and then you'll have her name on you and that could be upsetting later in life. My friend and I have matching tats that we both picked out together and they have meaning to our friendship, kind of an inside thing between us. We have them on the same spot also. Maybe look into something like that instead of putting someones name on you.

I too think the wrist is a not such a good spot for a tribute tattoo especially if that person is still alive and has the potential to mess up and make you not want the tattoo.
I think a better choice would be somewhere less visible. Chest or back maybe. Ask your friend for some ideas.

Sorry Wesley. It's sad, but true that not all friendships last as long as we think at the time that they will. I have a friend who has been with me "through thick and thin". We've been mates since I was 17 and I'm now 44. I'm godmother to her daughter...I can't imagine anything breaking our friendship, but.....I also think that the location of your proposed tattoo is not very attractive. I have a tattoo on the back of my right shoulder - I can show it or cover it if the occasion demands. It's a shooting star and most people who see it comment on it's being unusual - it demonstrates my approach to life. When it's on the way up a star is literally on top of the world. When it's falling.....there's another star will take it's place.

If you must get a tat in tribute to a living person that you could possibly one day have a fall out with and they leave your life....not family....I suggest another place and something that can be covered later! lighter colors etc.
I know that we would all like to think that the absolutly best person in our lives will be there forever, and seemingly will be.....but you NEVER know! I won't even get my husbands name on me, not that I think that we will part or anything, just simply because I have seen to many people regret these things! I do have my SON"S name on me, but he will always be my son no matter what! Just think this through LONG and hard before doing it....and really rethink where you want it and what you would get....
I may suggest some sort of angel, you said she is like an angel to you...you then wouldn't really have to worry about a name on you! And hey! Light colors will cover better if need be!!
Don't do something that you will regret later on....think down the road MANY MANY YEARS...

Hi^^
Very sweet.. but if "something" happens it is a perm situation on your body.. anyway that said.. as I am sure others said it too..
I would get this on a place were it is not so visible.. so you can have it done over with something els god forbid something happens.,. as well
You could have the words written in Latin..you can tell a tattoo artiest what this person is to you and they could design a tat for you for a price...
True friends bound at the heart.."Names" we shall never part.. .. or a Celtic emblem.. the possibility's are endless..
Have fun...I am so happy for you that you have someone in your life that is this close to your heart...
If you have one true friend they are worth a million..

I would suggest somewhere not as visible, it may prove problems later in life for example when going for jobs. But if you really want to get a tribute to her why not get her name in another language such as Irish or Hebrew. Or perhaps simply a tattoo of an angel.

Is your friend going to get ink as well? If so, I think that something like a wing would be nice. Kind of like those "best friends" charms that make a heart or something when they're put together, you and she can get one wing each so that it makes a pair or wings when you put them together.
I have a tattoo with a similar idea, my mom and I have the hat, sunglasses, and skinny tie of the Blues Brothers, she has Jake and I have Elwood and it represents a really wonderful trip that we took a couple years ago. So now when we put our wrists together, we something similar to this image, http://www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/showimage.php?image=images/posters/concer.jpg

I think the footprint tattoo would be precious, and it was also serve as a reminder of his size (not sure if he's a baby). I'm sorry for your loss, and the tattoo is a very special thing to do.

You want the best for a friend,. then KEEP THE DESIGN TOTALLY ORIGINAL,.. get a very close, trusted friend to sit there with you and design one yourselves,.. don't go getting a design someone else already has or if it's a famous image,. get an original piece of work done. Done! :)
If someone here replies with pics, they're doing you or your friend no favours.
When you sit there designing one, think about say 3 special qualities about her you love/like and think how they could be made into a design,.. go for it,. have fun :)
