I do not see us as doomed. Man is very intelligent, if not drugged, and we have a great opportunity to learn to exploit shallow seas, maybe even live in mostly-submerged domes, and grow seafood, fish, and edible plants.
I see lots of fresh "virgin" soil comming out from under the ice, to grow better crops and allow us a second chance to do agriculture right.
I see brand new recreational areas, and changes in the old ones for new sports.
It is a time for man to innovate and ride the tide of change, not be listening to the doom-and-gloom-unless-you-follow-our- religion-of-scarcity-and bondage. And let us, the High Priest and his select, lead the way by forcing you back into the bondage of the past.
You may party, but I think we need positive-thinking and well-educated people to map a route to a new world, where we can do things the right way as we know now. And without repressive governmental action. Educate people.
We can spend trillions fighting the natural warming cycle, and I doubt we will win. Or we can enjoy it, enjoy having new freedoms, and also have enough new resources to start serious moving out into space, listening for a change to those who think long-term of freedom and prosperity, not those who think short term of power for themselves and want for the rest. And sticking to the old ship...not adventuring to find what may be just a ways out away.
And the new ice age cycle is just around the bend...we need to be ready! History shows this, and those who do not learn from this history may be wiped out by it!
Consider that before you party and forget.

One area which receives little media attention and one that I'm involved in, is looking at what we can do about global warming. There are a great many things that can be done.
It took scientists many decades to get politicians to accept that climate change was a reality, now the scientists have the task of getting them to accept that something can be done about it.
But politicians are politicians. Rather than constructively addressing the problem they're passing the burden of responsibility onto individuals and organisations and telling them to deal with it. Whilst this may reduce the problem it isn't going to make it go away.
Global warming is just that - global. It requires a global effort to deal with it and that means governments uniting and doing more than talking and imposing limits and regulations on society.

You assume that we won't adapt to the changing environment. We will.
If you want to help "slow down" global warming, you could continue to push the going out party and get everyone that shows up to commit suicide, reducing the population is the best way.
