A pit privy is a hole in the ground that some underdeveloped countries, or parts thereof, use as their sanitary system. In other words it's anything from an outhouse to a larger pit that receives the human waste of multiple families. There usually is not much, if any treatment of the raw sewage in these systems. The system that is used in Antipolo, a city in the Philippines, is a low water treatment alternative to managing feces and urine bi-products. Here's a link that talks about the basic concepts of this system. I hope this helps but am still trying to figure out what a Philippine town's management of their sewage has to do with NASCAR. Oh well.
