I was bored and just reading the Q & A that are up for vote. I figured I could place my vote and get my one point each time. Well, after I started looking at the percentages for the most votes for everyone's answer, I noticed that the questions this one particular person answered was always voted "best answer" each and every time, they always had the highest percentage of votes.
Now, it looked fishy to me this same person everytime was ALWAYS the one who ALWAYS had the BEST answer. Is this a coincidence or are they just that good to ALWAYS have their answer chosen as best?
Funny thing is, these past couple of days I've wondered how their best answers kept moving up so quick. I think I know now. I won't mention any names, but I'll tell you this person is a Jeff Gordon fan and writes the same exact thing every time under "sources". Thats how I knew it was the same person. I think I caught myself a cheater.
I guess this is how this person has gotten sooooo many best answers.

I don't know....I've actually have "won" a few best answer awards but that's not why I am here..... I think Gordo man is just into Nascar and knows alot of historical facts concerning the sport..... people appreciate his knowledge and award him with best answers...... I actually enjoy the thumbs up or down as well.....let's you know who's fans are reading the answers.

Does the actual best answer always get voted as such, definitely not, but what does it matter? david g does get voted as best answer more than anyone else but he is an upbeat guy and has more friends on here than anyone else. He also answers almost every question, thus giving him many opportunities for getting best answers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. There's nothing stopping ANYONE from doing the same thing. Be nice, get your friends together and tell them to vote for your answer everytime one comes up if it is important to you. If not then just use this forum for what you enjoy about it. Try not too be so negative, regardless of your motives. You are newer to here and haven't seen all the jerks come and go the way some of us have. This whole forum was infected with negativity and some good people that used to participate got fed up and don't contribute anymore. I don't blame them but we are trying to keep this fun and a place to get different takes on our favorite sport.

I really don't care most of the time what anyone else writes as an answer. Most of the time I don't read what others answeredd and don't really care. If I have a strong opinion about something that a question is asked, I answere it in my feelings or since I have been into racing for around 50 years that I can remember I will answerer first hand not go to a en-crap-apedia and look up the answerer.

I do notice that there are a few that do get the best answer a lot and have read one or 2 of them and they just seemed to me they were all a big suck *** type answerer. Like a politician telling you what you want to hear. And then because they were the kind one and have a nice avatar thing they get picked best answer.

So I guess don't let it bother you. Move on, and push the riff raft aside. Worry about your question and the answer's you need to know or are curious about.
I'm moving aside.

Maybe the person did earn the Best Answers.

I tried once (just to see if it would work), if you were to vote for a best answer with more than 1 screen name (and I didnt do it on just my answers, I did it for others too), and Yahoo will catch it, and take away the votes.

So unless the person has found a way to get around it, I would pretty much think the person has earned it.

And yeah, I do hate it when you do see legit, good answers on a question, and some stupid answer gets picked over a good answer, for the reasons stated in the post above. I know on the 2 questions I have asked all time on here, I do try to be fair, and listen to all answers, even if they totally differ from my opinion.

Ya I gave that a thought for about a second when I first started to particpate and then let it go as being unimportant to the overall purpose of this forum.I generally get a bigger kick out of thumbs up and down then best answers. And for that reason I generally am very active in that process ,foregoing the thumbs down unless an answer is way out of bounds. But when someone has an intelligent point of view, whether I agree or not then give a thumbs up.This process is a better indication of best answer then trying to pick just one out of many diverse opinions.

I always vote David G on majority of my questions. He along with some others have the ability to "Tone" me down when I get upset and lash out through the means of questioning. With that said, I would have to say your observation is just that. Its a coincidence and you. You should see some of his answers thoroughly.

What is the meaning of having points anyways? Can it be cashed in for a prize or is it for bragging rights? Serious question here.

I believe you are talking about my friend David G. He isd a very sincere Guy and has alot of Friends on here (I being one of them). He gets the best answers alot of times because he is short and to the point and usually people agree with his points.

I have caught cheaters on here; David G is not one of them. It's getting kind of old this Season listening to all the Gordon haters claiming Gordon and Hendricks cheat and now we have to endure Gordon haters now accusing Gordon Fans of cheating. Sometimes it is just your season and right now it if Gordon and David G's Season. If you stay focused, maybe you can have your Season too.

Well I can tell you this I am not cheating. My wife and 2 daughters are on here and I do not vote on my own answers. I have several friends on here that probably vote for me .Look at my contacts since I don't give negative answers or bash other drivers I have a lot of friends.Maybe you should try to be a little more considerate with your answers.

Mike,

Let's see things from a different point of view.

Actually what is wrong here, is just to transform it into a competition. An answer should be ONLY an answer, no matter how many points or whatever one can earn through!

The important thing to me is that the answer shall be helpful. Any other purpose of an answer would be wrong.

Or?
