do i need to take classes to be a massage therapist?

i've been practicing massages on my parents and on my my sister b4 i go to a massage class or school and i live in vegas

Yes there are schools just for massage therapy and if you're looking at working at a chiropractors office or a physical therapists office they won't hire you unless you complete school and receive your certification. Typically only spas will hire someone uncertified (at least in Connecticut where I live)

Yes, there is a school in Ventura CA. And in California, at least, there is an exam one needs to take for one's license.

You have to be very careful in this profession because many women get trapped into a life of prostitution. This is a very problematic career choice in many ways. That is sad because excellent therapists are needed, however many massage parlors use the word massage therapist to mean hand-jobs. Very sad.

You need to be certified and to get a certificate, I assume you need to train.
