Is your cat really distressed, and meowing and acting as if he is in pain (growling and angry)? If so, you need to take him to the vet straight away.

If he is just limping, wait for a day or two. He might stop limping and be fine, in which case just be more careful in the future ~ ask your friend to play more gently with Oreo :-)

If he doesn't stop limping, take him along to the vet for a good check up.

If he keeps limping for more than a couple of days I'd take him right to the vet. Even if he's fine, it couldn't hurt more than a small bill at the vet.

You can either ignore it, and watch the cat either heal just fine or end up with a permanent limp; or you can get him checked out, pay for the visit, and either waste the money on a small injury or prevent a problem.

What'd your friend exactly do to injure your cat like that?

If you give a cat ANY Tylenol you may kill it or at the very least start it on kidney failure!!

IF a vet tells you it is just a sprain - they might recommend a half or quarter baby aspirin - no more than 3 times a week.

Kitties do not metabolize medications like humans - it generally takes way longer for things to process. Surprising things are deadly to kitties - ibuprofen (worse than Tylenol for kitties), antifreeze(taste sweet - is deadly), lily or many other bulb-based plants, and so on.

Report your friend for animal abuse and realise this person is not worth having as a friend .

Immediately bring the cat to a vet and if you can not afford it call the aspca to bring the cat to see a vet .

If this just happened I would give it 1 or 2 days. If it doesn't improve I would take him to the vet and give the bill to your friend.
