The flood narrative from the bible is based on a much older Sumerian legend, which in turn was based on the even older Akkadian 'Epic of Gilgamesh', the original tablets have been conservatively dated to sometime around 12-15,000 years ago.

The specifics of Noah's job aren't detailed in the Biblical account, but we can make a few assumptions.
1. Noah had been commanded to make rooms in the Ark for the animals and his own family. It would make sense to segregate carnivores from herbivores.
2. He had also been commanded to make stores of food for the occupants, both human and animal. Stores like that would have taken carnivores into consideration! It isn't difficult to dry meat for a long voyage, and is the best way to store it. Major carnivores also don't eat every day; they could have been loaded onto the ark in a gorged state (7 days prior to the start of the deluge).
3. The idea of "only 2 of every kind" of animal is false. Noah's instructions included 7 mating pairs of "clean" animals as part of his load, in order to make breeding certain types of animals more successful. Carnivores are not considered "clean" animals. They would have been in the minority.
4. The ark was occupied for more than 40 days. The ark was sealed for 7 days before the deluge began, and THEN it rained for 40 days. There was also an apparant massive rupture of underground water ("the great springs of the deep broke forth") that added to the general deluge. While the rain stopped after 40 days, the flood kept rising for another 110 days. The occupants of the ark, human and animal, then had to wait until the earth was dry enough to let them out. In all, the ark was occupied for a little over a year.
5. There is nothing to suggest that Noah and company couldn't have supplemented their ark stores by fishing. That would have kept the carnivores happy, too.

In those times all man and specie's were under Gods will & every command, so I'm sure if Noah left out a football field messurement, than the animals would not have fitted but because they come from god they all fitted. Probably why the dinosaurs never got on, and fell into extinction? You know that
most animals can get on with one another, if the keeper being Noah & family were to keep the peace as to the routine of food, sleep and company and all's well why would the animals
be upset.

Noah could have easily segregated the animals from each other. Also I am not sure when animals became carnivorous as animals were only allowed to be eaten after the flood. However as I said, Noah could have kept animals separate from each other as the ark would have been big enough.

Before the flood both man and beast were vegetarian so there was no need to worry about the animals eating each other.

Genesis 1:29 Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;
30 and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food"; and it was so.

After the flood God instilled in animals the fear of man.

Genesis 9:2 The fear of you and the terror of you will be on every beast of the earth and on every bird of the sky; with everything that creeps on the ground, and all the fish of the sea, into your hand they are given.

And the He expanded man's diet to include meat.

Genesis 9:3 Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you, as I gave the green plant.

Presumably at that time the diet of some animals was changed to include meat also.

The story is not meant to be taken literally. It is best interpreted psychoanalytically.

The ark symbolises human consciousness and having all the animals in it, a male and female of each type, symbolises completeness and balance of the masculine and feminine qualities in thought. The story shows how to prepare thought so you will not be overwhelmed by adverse circumstances as represented by the flood.

If you read the beginning,it was God Himself who gave Noah this task to carry out meaning that He(God) was in control of everything from the start! He gave Noah the exact measurements to build the arc,He gave peace to all the animals when they were in the arc,I mean how did they all listen in the first place when Noah led them into the arc?...Of course God did. This follows up to todays life also, that we can obey God and He will guide our ways if we just allow Him to. The story also had the people that were disobedient and didnt listen to Noahs call. They thought He was crazy!! What happened...they were killed in the flood, they knocked on the arcs door but it was to late,God had shut it!
Same applies now in day!..... Youve heard many people say JESUS is coming!!!! but many people choose to ignore, but when He does come they will be knocking at His door but it will be too late. Its easy, all we have to do is accept what He did for us on the cross and accept Him as Lord and Savior of our lives and we will be as safe as Noah, his family and the animals were!!
Hope this helped!
God Bless

The total area inside the Ark was divided into rooms.

Genesis 6:14

"Make an ark of cyprus timbers. You shall make rooms in the ark. And you shall pitch it inside and outside with pitch. "

God specified every aspect of the ark, so as to accomodate every need. God also brought the animals into the ark, so He exercised whatever control over them was needed. When we obey His direction, those little details fall into place without our worry. This was true then and is true today.

The bible has full of contradictions. I have known the story of Noah, albeit barely, and my ideas about him came from those children stories I knew.

All I can say is this: Maybe because Papa Jesus is watching and he wouldn't like it. Be tame, really.
