Death By Chocolate: this is sooo great !!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There seem to be many recipes with the label Death By Chocolate, but this one has been my favorite, introduced to me by Dan Bower and Tim Dailey. Tim was the usual cook for the recipe on our Sunday night dinners we used to have in Troy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ingredients
24 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
2 quarters unsalted butter
2/3 cups heavy cream
6 whole extra large eggs
Steps
Melt 2 sticks of butter and 16 oz. of chocolate in a double boiler.
Warm 6 eggs in hot water.
Coat a 9" spring form pan with butter. Make it watertight with foil.
Beat the eggs whole until they are fluffy (like a meringue)
Slowly fold the melted butter and chocolate in to the eggs.
Place the mixture int he sprin form pan. Place the pan in a larger pan partly filled with warm water.
Bake at 425 degrees farenheit for 5 minutes. Cover with foil and bake at 425 degrees farenheit for another 10 minutes.
Pour on topping. Refridgerate. Serve.
Chocolate Topping for Death By Chocolate
Scald 2/3 cups of heavy cream in a sauce pan. Remove from heat.
Add 6oz. of finely chopped semi-sweet chocolate immediately.
Cover and let stand for five minutes.
Stir until smooth.
Test the topping by stirring. It is ready whe na drop "mounds" before disappearing into the rest. If it is too think - thin with warm liquer. If it is too thin, add more chocolate, re-heat and test it again.

I've never tried Devil's Food, so I don't know if that's the same thing as Death By Chocolate. But, Death By Chocolate is so amazing, I can barely finish half of one serving because it's SO chocolatey, and good. Mmmm :3

DEATH BY CHOCOLATE
1 (19.8 oz.) box fudge brownie mix
1/4 to 1/2 c. Coffee Liqueur
3 (3.5 oz.) pkgs. instant chocolate mousse
8 (1.4 oz.) chocolate covered toffee candy bars (like Skor or Heath bars)
1 (12 oz.) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Preheat oven according to brownie package directions. Bake brownies according to package directions; let cool. Prick holes in the top of the brownies with a fork and pour the coffee liqueur over brownies; set aside.
Prepare chocolate mousse according to package directions. Break candy bars into small pieces in food processor or by gently tapping the wrapped bars with a hammer. Break up 1/2 the brownies into small pieces and place in the bottom of a large glass bowl. Cover with 1/2 the mousse, then 1/2 the candy, and then 1/2 the whipped topping. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.

Note: Instead of the coffee liqueur, substitute a mixture of 1 teaspoon sugar and 4 tablespoons black coffee. Or just leave out the coffee flavoring entirely. This is absolutely delicious and it is as it says Death By Chocolate.

A chocolate brownie, topped by a scoop of the best chocolate chip/chocolate ice cream you can find, topped by melted high-quality chocolate (it will harden upon contact with the ice cream -- just nuke it to melt it), and a chocolate-covered cherry on top!

Oh, is that overkill????

How about this variation? Chocolate brownie base, a layer of cherry pie filling, Cherry Garcia (cherry and chocolate chip ice cream, if you aren't from the States), melted chocolate thinned with a little butter and cream (this is the best hot fudge sauce), garnished with an Oreo and a maraschino cherry.

(-: Easy to make, too!

bypass to the internet web page for the foodstuff community. they have a lot of excellent techniques, each and every thing from user-friendly to experienced-cooks-basically. something you will be able to additionally attempt is gumdrop spiders. Get some enormous black gumdrops and a few black licorice laces (the thin ones.) decrease a number of short products of the licorice and stick them into the climate (on the backside area, for sure) of the gumdrop to make a spider. Use those as decorations on a cake or on cupcakes. If that is annoying to adhere the licorice into the gumdrop, you may dip a pointy knife in water and take an exceedingly skinny slice off the backside, exposing the sticky stuff. Set this on good of the decrease licorice 'legs' and that they're going to stick. try this basically earlier you positioned them onto the cake, or they're going to persist with each and every thing! Little dabs of frosting make lovable eyes. positioned them on with a toothpick in case you do not have a pastry bag. a chum's mom used to entice spooky eyes on annoying-boiled eggs and speak to them ghosts. It develop right into a transformation from each and every of the candy.

Preheat your oven to 250.

Get one bag of Hershey's kisses, and measure out 1 cup, unwrap them, place them in a bowl.

Then take one package of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups (King Size), and remove them from the wrapper.

Grind up the Hershey Kisses using a potato masher, then place them in the oven until it becomes a thick liquid consistancy.

While you're waiting, take the remaining Hershey Kisses and Reeses PB cups and eat them.

Once the 10 minutes is up, remove the concoction from the oven and serve.
