i have been talking to a person who asked a ?? and got a lot of negative answers from you guys.. turn out after asking to talk to the mum that this poor lad is under 10. he has also got 4 top answers haha go little man.. but my q is should there be different age groups to avoid this and how would it work???

I second that emotion. There should be categories with age restrictions. That would make this a wholly better experience. As far as "how would it work???": I have no idea, but I think you're onto something.

Did you know that under 13's are not allowed to use Y/A, according to the Y/A policy document, so this boy is the exception rather than the rule. Without id verification procedures there is no way of controlling this problem, but i would like to think that people restrain themselves from writing anything too negative or that could harm young people and that young people can be trusted to use this forum appropriately. It could be nice to have different Y/A for kids and adults, but how do you stop the pervs from going on the kids site? Good question!

no age restrictions... a 10 year old kid should be playin outside not bein on the computer...
o btw yahoo answers does have an age restriction....only those 13 and up are allowed to use it...

I am a firm believer that parents should monitor where their kids are visiting. If it's not this site there will be others. It's not up to yahoo to police for the parents IMHO.

Yes! I read some questions that are very rude and offensive, and I'm old enough to be this little kid's grandma!

to tell you the truth there should be parent control on you computer for the kids, but some parents dont really know how to work computers
