I hear ya; 'Hispanic' isn't a breed of dog any more than it's a race of human beings. What you're saying is that your pup is of a breed with a Hispanic (Spanish, Mexican, Latin-American) background...or maybe you simply got him in a Spanish-speaking country.

My family's from Venezuela; a long time ago I put together a list of Venezuelan place-names (and a few other words just because I like them). It's not complete by any stretch, but... Maybe you'll like one or more of them; maybe the list will just give you a better idea of what you're looking for. Here it is:

Aragua
Miranda
Guárico
Anzoátegui
Sucre
Monagas
Amacuro
Bolívar
Amazonas
Apure
Barinas
Táchira
Mérida
Zulia
Trujillo
Portuguesa
Lara
Falcón
Yaracuy
Carabobo
Cojedes
- - -
Canaima
Caroní
Flamenco
Mirasol
Pavo
Sabanero
Tico
Gavilán

Endless others are possible. If you like this approach, try an atlas with maps of the dog's home country and see what strikes your fancy.

Buena suerte!

Pirulin
Coquito
Poquito if he's little
Rubio or Guerro if he's light-colored
Fosforo if he's reddish
Moreno (Morenito) if he's black or dark colored
Lobo (wolf)
Gigarron if he's big
Fido (it's Latin for faithful)
I'm told it's not customary for Hispanics to give a dog a human name.
