what were you doing when you were holding hands? walking in the mall or simply siting on the couch watching a movie? Sounds like a protective/security issue to me. I've been there. He may be the controlling and jealous type. Be careful!

You didn't really give us enough information to be able to answer you well, but I would caution you that if he wouldn't let go and you wanted him to, that is a problem. Never, ever confuse a man using his superior strength to overpower you with his loving you. That's actually bullying behavior and it is very dangerous to allow yourself to be in a trusting relationship with a person who has shown a willingness to bully you, especially when that person is stronger than you are.
