you are a little overweight. If you are medium frame you should weigh about 120 for your height. If large frame about 130. Heres a rough test of frame size. Wrap you thumb and middle finger around you wrist right below your hand. Finger and thumb touch easily with a slight overlap - small frame barely touch - medium, don't touch - large.

You can loose 5 lbs the first week but your weight loss will probably taper off each week after that. The second week maybe 3 pounds 3rd week 2 pounds and then about one pound a week. In 7 weeks you could be down to 138 by school time. Any faster than that is probably gonna be unhealthy. Also you will have more difficultly keeping it off if you use a quick unhealthy way to loose.

Here's the equation for fat loss (thought algebra had no practical application in your life huh?) - (Calories consumed - Calories burned) / 3500= lbs of fat lost or gained over a given period of time. You can't escape the math! There are 3500 calories in a pound. Your'e gonna have to EAT RIGHT and exercise if you want to loose weight in a healthy way.

The bicycling is fine IF you are covering the 3.5 miles within 15 - 17 minutes. I would double the distance and do it in 30 min. That would be 200-250 calories burned in addition to your regular daily activity which is probalbly around 2000 calories if don't sit around all day when you're not riding the bike. Add some weight training to build up as many muscle groups as possible. You will burn more calories even while sleeping if you have more muscle. You don't have to look masculine just add some muscle. Muscles weigh more than fat so the scales won't show as much weight loss but you'll loose the inches faster than you would otherwise. Buy some dumbells. You should be abel to get some at a sporting goods store for 10 to 25 cents per pound. Get a 5 lb , 10 lb and 15 lb. and an instruction book that shows you how to use the dumbells.

Don't bow to the peer pressure or fashion world, Hollywood hype about what is attractive. Most of the skinny types look like they just got out of a concentration camp - not attractive at all. Don't be a sheep. Determine what is healthy for you and stay with that weight. If you obsess about your weight when it is in a healthy range, you need to work more on your mental health and maturity.

First, I would like to applaud you on making the decision to live a healthy lifestyle early! Secondly, great job on the bike rides--those will really help! Alright, so here's a suggested plan:

You want to keep your daily calorie intake down to about 1200-1500 calories.
Avoid soda at all costs! If you have a craving, go for diet.
Avoid red meats and other fatty items; instead get your protein from fish, dairy, and nuts.
Drink plenty of water and herbal teas.
Since you are so young, don't be TOO strict on yourself--once every couple of days allow yourself to splurge on some ice cream, etc. (If you can, make it fat free!!)
If you get hungry for snacks, don't head to the chips or candy...try fresh fruits and veggies!

Exercise...riding your bike is GREAT cardio workout. Once you get used to the trail, change it up to more hilly areas or longer paths.
You might want to try some toning exercises to help tighten up different areas.
Stomach-- lay on your back and lift your legs up at a 50 degree angle. Move them up and down 50 times. Do 3 sets a day.
Legs--the bike ride will take care of those :)
Arms--get some weights (and as you can, increase the weight) and work with them. Lift them up from your front and side. (3 sets of 25 for each)

~A Few Helpful Hints~
Don't eat an hour and a half before you go to bed
When watching TV, jog in place during commercials.
Limit your game/TV time a day

I hope this helps! Whatever you do, don't starve yourself! Remember, weight loss takes TIME--I know you want to lose it before school, but if you want it to STAY off, you have to do it right.

Hi. Firstly don't panic. You CAN do this.
I n 7 weeks you could be down to 135-138pounds if you decide to work at it and start NOW.
Bike riding is great and mix it up with other stuff like swimming, jogging, jump rope etc. Try to do 40 minutes a day. This will really get your metabolism moving. Also do some press-ups, crunches and other anerobic exercizes. You can find loads on the net. Do these 30 mins 3 times per week.

Ok. Food. If you doing more exercise theres less time to hand around eating right?
Fruit is great for the summer. Apples, pears, melon. Fruit juices. Cut out chips, chocolate, sweets, fizzy pop, pasta, white bread etc. Eat only what you know is good for you and eat small and often. 6 small meals per day.

Chin up.
Good luck

Well, don't freak out about it. With so much weight to lose, and permanently, you have to do it right!

Let me explain to you that your body is in the midst of change and for you to exert any great amount of stress will NOT be beneficial.
You can do all you want to lose weight, but if you don't eat healthy you will fail.

If there is ANYTHING you can do, it is WALK. WALK WALK WALK.
Running isn't so good for the body as walking. It is well if you limit your portions, take vitamins a couple times a week to keep up with your nutrition, and drink LOTS of water.
The body is more willing to give up weight when it thinks it doesn't need it. Treat your body right, and it will gladly give it up. If you keep active, you keep healthy.

Some major pointers:
-Learn about eating right (without eating right, your body will suffer)
-Buy a pedometer instead of a scale (cheap, great way to put your goal into numbers - that is, you want to look great, not lose weight - you will gain muscle which weighs more than fat)
-Keep active (heightens metabolism)
-Keep happy (Stress causes weight-gain, happiness causes healthiness)
-make a permanent change (don't eat healthy, then stop because you've reached your goal. You will surely get fat again, trust me I've been there) don't go on any diet fads, choose a proper diet and stick to it!
-Keep a positive mind (not everything will happen the way you want - be flexible - be calm - any improvement is GREAT improvement)
-water is Life (water controls hunger)
-eat slowly (the slower you eat, the fuller you get, quicker - it's also healthier to eat slowly so you can allow the body to begin it's digestion process before food enters the stomach)

Remember to monitor your body, not weight. You will feel the change, see the change.

Some exercise tips:
-stretch (this allows the muscles to grow without working them - it's an easy way to gain muscle)
-rest (if you do not rest, you will over-work your body and be unfit to get fit)
-drink water, and lots of it (the more water you have, the more you can work)

I'm listing some great sites!
Good Luck, Have Fun. Take CARE.

^.^

the eating will totally change everything. you cant just excersize and think its enough. you have to be wholly commited to wanting to lose weight, diet, sweating ,and all.

always eat a healthy breakfast. alot of people think by cutting breakfast out, they will lose weight because theyre eating less....but all that does is make you STARVING for more lunch and snacks. you need ot be on a schedule and eat at the same time (approx) each day. breakfast about 30 min. after youve woken up and make sure its healthy breakfast, not cinnamon buns and microwave waffles with syrup and butter...like rice cereal with lowfat milk or a big serving of fruit and a bagel.
lunch should be about 4 hours after breakfast. part of peoples problem is that they SNACK. snacking is good, if its healthy snacking and not too much. fruit and veggies, crackers, pretzels. not leftover cold pizza, chips, or cookies. and just a bit so you arent starving.
lunch-try to very much avoid fast foods. its very hard since it is now summer to avoid just running through mcdonalds for a quick burger or tacobell. healthy delimeat sandwiches, whole grain pasta, microwavable lean cuisines are great.
dinner: just remeber to eat slowly, so you wont be so overly full. if you rush, youll eat A TON and be so bloated.

tips: if you are just bored and want to eat...dont. if you excersise a little (a small jog, jumprope, chasing a pet) you'll realize your not that hungry.

DRINK SO MUCH WATER. it will help curb your cravings and help you lose weight.

anytime your craving a burger or french fries, remeber how badly you feel after and how you feel fat. it will cange your mind and how youll feel at the end of the day.

stick to the same plan every day and run in the mornings and at night. grab your mp3 and go!

i hope this helps you! good luck!

Continue working out. You need to burn more calories than you eat. You won't lose weight if you don't change what you eat. I've been eating 600 calories a day for about a month, and I've lost 15 pounds (with no exercise). It's only food. You don't NEED to have tastey things in order to live. Being skinny is much more rewarding than a few cheetos. Good luck.

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
