You need to learn more about the social structure of Egypt to ask this question. Technically, everyone who was not the pharoh in egypt was his 'slave'. But the Hebrews were not in a low position in egypt. In fact, the Egyptians seemed to have a peculiar respect for them. examine ancient egypt on a more academic side and you will understand this better.

Btw 'christ' is a alteration of the greek word for messiah, its simply a way of proclaiming jesus was the messiah. Its not liek his last name was christ or anything. If you arent going to assume he was the messiah, just call him jesus, or jesus of nazereth. Then you avoid any accidental linguistic assumptions.

God's people had prayed for freedom and God answered. He used Moses to lead them out of Egypt. God had promised their ancestors (Abraham) that they would have a land of their own, and He always keeps His promises. This was old testament stuff. Jesus is new testament.
