Everything that drops out of Hollywood has a built-in audience.

They don't make movies with budgets like that without a demographic in mind.

I don't remember much about it, but I thought Bruce Almighty was awful and I still believed in god at the time. It avoided the hard questions and resorted to cliche. I would not go see the Passion. Disgusting glorification of suffering. The story is about what a nasty petty god the Christian god is, that he would apparently hate the world he created so much that he had to send his alter ego to Earth and then sacrifice himself TO himself (assuming you believe in the doctrine of the Trinity) in order to forgive the shortcomings of his own creation. Chronicles of Narnia I read as a child and had no idea it was a Christian allegory until someone said it was. CS Lewis is an idiot who thinks that, because we WISH for something it must really exist (Argument from Desire).

I think that the 'Almighty' movies are about questions like "If you had God's power, what would you do to change the world?" and "How would things go if the flood happened in modern times?" I don't think they're meant to make fun of people's beliefs or are made for a Christian audience.

I can't say anything about "The Passion" because I've never seen nor want to see it. It didn't peak my interest at all.

The Passion of the Christ...yes...the other two, no....I know that when the Passion came out, many churches reserved whole movie theaters to take their members to see it. I haven't heard that about the other two...after all, they are more comedies than serious looks at the Christian faith.

I'd say that The Passion does. I wouldn't be so sure about the others because they're comedies. Unfortunately for us, we have catholics in this world, who get all super defensive and upset when anything involving god is turned into a joke.

The passion had no message...no reason why..ho hope..just a bloody arrest and torture...it was a passion play but there has to be more..there has to be explanations of who he was and why he died...and how he was raised as a king...to rule in the kingdom of the heavens.
What they did well was to show how it really was with the jews wanting to have Jesus killed.
