I love the "Priddy Books" by Roger Priddy. They pictures are really vibrant and the text is appropriately geared towards each age group.

My son is younger (only 16 months) so we mainly own the "baby" books, but he offers a lot of books for older toddlers as well!

I love you Forever and The Giving tree are classics! I cry when I read them!

And Dr. Suez is always fun! My cousin just graduated kindergarten and I take her to the library with me and she reads me Dr. Suez! They are VERY good because they all rhyme. Kids pick up on that very fast, and they go naturally smoothly. Just do not try reading 'fox in socks' very fast. Its REALLY hard because almost EVERY word in the book rhymes.

If your kid likes Disney movies, read her the books that come out after every movie. I used to love it when my parents would do that!

When she gets older, I suggest reading the Narnia series. My parents started reading that to me when I was four, and I had "The lion the witch and the wardrobe" memorized by the time I was seven!

My son is 2 1/2 as well, and loves his books too. Some suggestions are C. George, Sesame Street, Dr. Seuss, anything with big print, and colorful pictures. Also pop-up books, and anything that can be 'touched' (fuzzy, rough, ect.) are great. Try Barnes & Noble, they have a little kid section, and there are plenty of options to choose from back there.

My daughter loved Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you see?? and my son who is also 2.5 loves anything with his favorite characters in them such as The Backyardagains or Lightning McQueen and anything with animals. The Max and ruby books are also pretty good. Or maybe even Charlie and Lola.
If your worried about her hurting them in any way like ripping them or coloring in them try getting them at thrift stores, yard sales, or see if any friends with older kids have some they want to get pass along to a good home.

Any and ALL kids books. I really liked "I love you forever", "Alexander and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day", "One fish, Two fish", "cat in the hat", "Where the wild things are" and my son REALLY loved reading his childrens bible. Some other good choices are a book of nursery rhymes. She might like the Disney Princess books. The important thing is that you just read to her. I read to my son everynight, and now he loves to read. His teacher in school says that when she gives the kids free time, he'll choose a book and sit down and read the whole time.

The easiest way to handle this is to let her choose a book at the library that she would enjoy. Just make sure its something she is interested in and that its not a big book for she can try other books. Good luck!

My kids loved Hug by Jez Alborough, any of the books by Leslie Patricelli (Yummy Yucky, Binky, Blankie....), any by Mercer Mayer, Dr Seuss. My advice - teach your daughter to love reading by taking her to your local library or second hand bookshop, and letting her pick out books that interest her.

I wish you and your daughter all the best in life and books!

educational books are the best--there are alot of them out there that teaches along with reading good stories..get her some bedtime story tapes/cd/dvd to listen to when being tucked in at bedtime---alot of them have a book to follow through on as well for them..check the library that way you don't have the expense but you have the knowledge of what books the kids should be reading...I am very proud of you introducing your children to books they are the best gift anyone can buy for them

Go to the Zoo and then make your own "book". My children love their's! Take lots of picture be sure to get at least one of every animal. Include your own pets and birds on the porch, any animal will fit in. She will learn her animals and really enjoy the memories.

Good Night Moon. my daughter loves that book. also, go to amazon and search within her age group. then when you find one you like look at the new/used section, you can get them cheaper than a bookstore...even the new ones.
